4:00-7:00     When I arrived, I was greeted in the driveway by Danny, Jessica, and Mossy.  When I made my way inside, I found Dr. Vesper dozing in his recliner.  I said hello to him, and he fell quickly back to sleep while Mossy and I discussed the events of the last couple of weeks.  After she left, I set the table and prepped the salad for dinner.  When it was time to eat, Doctor requested a simple supper, which took just a few minutes to prepare.  I applied a topical medication to his scalp per Mossy’s instruction, then helped him to the table, where he enjoyed a hearty appetite.  His blood glucose level prior to eating was 149.

7:00-9:00     After dinner, Dr. Vesper returned to the living room to watch TV while I cleaned the kitchen and microwave, loaded the dishwasher, and set out breakfast items and morning medications.  I tried to engage Dr. Vesper in conversation, but he seemed fatigued, and continued to doze off/on through the remainder of my shift.  At bedtime I gave him his evening medication,  then assisted him to the bathroom for his night time routine.  Once in bed, he expressed his gratitude for my help and said good night.

COMMENTS:

I filled in for Michele today. When I arrived he was sleeping and definitely not ready to get up. I let him sleep a little longer while I did chores. After breakfast and morning meds, I gave him a sponge bath and helped him get dressed. He did a good round of exercise today, since we didn’t have time for exercise yesterday. Lunch, followed by TV & snoozing. Relieved by Susan at 4p

COMMENTS: I did grocery shopping at Kroger’s this morning. Stored food and supplies. I fed Kemper & Hillary, filled water bowls, emptied the litter box. I got Dr. Vesper up at 10:30a, he ate breakfast, took a.m. meds and read. After breakfast I gave him  a shave and a shower and helped him get dressed.  He had a nice nap after his shower. In the afternoon, he had a lite lunch and watched TV until Rick & Carol arrived. Today was Jessica‘s birthday, Danny prepare a spaghetti birthday dinner, with a little help from Mossy & Jessica. After dinner we had cake and ice cream, followed by cards and gifts. Everyone helped clear the table, load the dishwasher and clean up the kitchen. I set the table for breakfast and morning meds. He took his p.m. meds and got ready for bed.

COMMENTS:  I got Dr. Vesper up shortly after arriving. He had morning meds with breakfast and briefly scanned the newspaper. He had a sponge bath and dressed after breakfast. Dr. Vesper had lunch in the afternoon, did his exercise and watched TV. Danny and Jessica went out for dinner tonight. I made a dinner of leftovers for Dr. Vesper, he ate and then watched TV until bedtime. I did the dishes and set the table for morning breakfast and a.m. meds. Dr. Vesper took his p.m. meds before going to bed.

COMMENTS: I took care of Kemper & Hillary and started chores before getting Dr. Vesper up.  He ate breakfast and took his morning meds. I gave him a sponge bath and helped him get dressed after breakfast, and then he did his exercise. Jessica and Tyler hung out at home today while Danny played golf with his dad. He got home in time to watch Tyler while Jessica went to the ophthalmologist. She was in the mood for Italian and picked up dinner at Olive Garden on her way home. After dinner Dr Vesper watched TV while I cleared the table and loaded the DW. I set the table for breakfast and prepared morning meds. He took his p.m. meds and I helped him get ready for bed.

COMMENTS: I made a quick stop at Paneras on my way in this morning. I took care of Hillary and Kemper when I arrived. I got Dr. Vesper up, he had breakfast and took his AM meds. Dr. Vesper had a shower after lunch and got dressed. He did his exercise after a short nap. Jessica was out most of the afternoon, Danny & Tyler went to the zoo. Jessica picked up salmon for dinner while she was out. After dinner he watched TV while I put away leftovers and loaded the DW. I prepared morning meds and breakfast setup for tomorrow. Dr. Vesper took his pm meds and prepared for bed.

COMMENTS: Dr. Vesper got up at 10:45a, he had his morning meds with breakfast. I gave him a sponge bath and and helped him with dressing after breakfast. After lunch, we did exercise, then he relaxed, watched TV and napped the rest of the afternoon.  Danny played golf all day with Humana s dad, Jessica spent a few hours organizing and cleaning out the garage, Tyler hung out with Kemper. Stephanie and Charlotte stopped by for a Visit after dinner. After dinner, he watched TV while I cleaned up the kitchen and loaded DW.  I prepared breakfast and a.m. meds for tomorrow.  He took his p.m. meds and got ready for bed.
