5:00-7:00     When I arrived Dr. Vesper was in the bathroom.  Mossy and I chatted about the day’s events before she left.  There was little for me to do as the house was in good shape, the table set, and salad prepped, so I sat with Dr. Vesper until he was hungry.  When dinner was ready, he enjoyed a hearty appetite and ate well.  HIs blood glucose level prior to eating was 146.

7:00-9:00     The remainder of my shift ran in quiet, routine fashion.  After dinner, Dr. Vesper returned to the living room while I cleaned the kitchen, washed the dishes, and set out breakfast items and morning medications.  I also took out trash and touched up the bathroom.  Dr. Vesper was less talkative tonight and alternated between napping and watching TV.  At bedtime I gave him his evening medications and waited while he performed his night time toilette.  He did not require any assistance with this, but needed some help getting into bed.  Once he was tucked in, he was very gracious as we said good night.

Dinner:     Salad, marinated beef flank steak, mashed potatoes, corn on the cob, croissant, and diet cherry 7up.  No dessert.

5:00-7:00     When I arrived, Dr. Vesper was relaxing in his recliner.  Stephanie filled me in on the day’s events before she left.  I chatted with Dr. Vesper for a few minutes, took his dinner order, and began cooking.  He was fairly quiet throughout the meal, engrossed in the science channel.  He enjoyed a hearty appetite and ate well.

7:00-9:00     After dinner, Doctor returned to the living room while I cleaned the kitchen, washed dishes, set out breakfast items and morning medications, replenished Kemper’s water bowl, and touched up the bathroom.  I joined him in the living room and he became very conversant asking me about my family and reminiscing about Rose.  At bedtime I gave him his evening medication and waited while he performed his night time toilette.  I helped him into bed, tucked him in, and said good night.  He did ask that I turn on his TV so he could watch more of the science channel.

5:00-7:00     When I arrived, Dr. Vesper was relaxing in the living room watching TV.  Michele brought me up to speed on the day’s events before leaving.  After chatting with Dr. Vesper for a bit, I took his dinner order and began cooking.  He ate quite well, though it took him a while to complete his meal.  His blood glucose level prior to eating was 143.

7:00-9:00     After dinner, Dr. Vesper returned to the living room where he watched a variety of shows while dozing off and on.  I cleaned the kitchen, washed the dishes, set out breakfast items and morning medications, replenished Kemper’s water bowl, and touched up the bathroom.  At bedtime, I gave Doctor his night time medications, then waited while he performed his evening routine.  He required no assistance in the bathroom, but was visibly fatigued as he made his way to bed.  I tucked him in and said good night.

COMMENTS: I went in to get doctor Vesper up at 10:40. Dister Carol had already called and said she would be calling back. But doctor Vesper was tired and didn’t want to get up at this time. His blanket was crumpled on the floor so I covered him up and told him to sleep a while longer.
Dr Vesper got up at 11:05, into the kitchen for breakfast. When I went in to make his bad I saw his top sheet was wet. So I put it in the wash and got clean pjs out for him to wear.
A sleepy day for Dr. Vesper.
