5:00-7:00 When I arrived, Dr. Vesper was in the living room watching TV. As always, Stephanie brought me up to speed on the day’s events. She also helped me to raise and secure a previously broken blind in the living room that I inadvertently closed the night before. After she left I took Dr. Vesper’s dinner order and began cooking. As Dr. Vesper was coming to the table, I noticed his chair pad was damp and asked him to come to the bathroom first so I could help him into some fresh clothing. He refused and stated he wanted to eat first. He did enjoy a healthy appetite and ate well.
7:00-9:00 Once Dr. Vesper finished eating, I reminded him that he should go to the bathroom before returning to the living room. After several minutes, he came with me and allowed me to assist him with clean up and getting into fresh pajamas. He returned to his recliner while I cleaned the kitchen, washed the dishes, and set out breakfast items and morning medications. At bedtime I gave him his evening medications, then waited while he performed his night time toilette. He did not require my assistance, but was on the commode for over a half hour. I stood nearby and checked frequently, but he did not need my help getting up. He was visibly tired by the time we got back to the bedroom. I tucked him in and said good night.
