After dinner, he watched TV until bedtime. I set the table for breakfast and morning meds. He took his p.m. meds and got ready for bed.

NOTE: It was good to see Kemper back to normal today. He ate all of his food yesterday, but it took a full day of nibbling. Today, he was waiting at the door for me and emptied his bowl in one setting. He started begging for dinner about an hour early and I gave in, I’m sure his belly was pretty empty after 3 days of 1 cup, or less.

COMMENTS:  Elena took care of Kemper and Hillary this morning, he had only eaten a small portion of his food when I arrived at 10:30, but he did eventually finish the full 2 cups. I got Dr. Vesper up, he had morning meds with breakfast. He had a sponge bath and dressed after breakfast. In the afternoon, Dr. Vesper relaxed, did exercised, watched TV and napped while I finished a few extra chores. Elena was here a little extra time today cleaning the other side of the house. When she finished cleaning, we exchange gifts with her before she left. Dr. Vesper watched TV after dinner, while I did the dishes and set the table for morning breakfast and a.m. meds. Dr. Vesper took his p.m. meds and prepared for bed.

NOTE: We had a medium-size tree down across the drive on the lane going through the gate to the school. I called Jeannie’s husband, Tim, he cut the tree in half and pushed it over the hill. He had already planned on coming down today to finish getting the snow plow and salt spreader working properly. Tim also did me a big favor and loaded Dr. Vespers old me lift chair into the handicap van and took it to the basement. I needed to get it out of the middle of the floor, so I put it in the basement until after Christmas, when I will have time to find a good home for it.

COMMENTS: I received a phone call yesterday from the trucking company delivering Dr. Vesper‘s new chair. They were scheduled for today between 9 AM and 3 PM, I requested a phone call 30 minutes prior to their arrival, I received a phone call this morning at 8 AM letting me know they were in Georgetown and would be arriving in New Richmond in 30 minutes. I left my house immediately and arrived here about five minutes prior to the delivery. I arrive to find a mess throughout the family room, Kemper had diarrhea and or vomiting during the night in several places. I just barely had enough time to get it cleaned up before the driver arrived with the chair. The driver was very unhappy to be delivering on such a narrow road in his big truck, he got the chair inside without any difficulty, but would not assist with unpacking. Andrew came up after work and helped me get it out of the box and set up. I got Dr. Vesper up after the driver left, he had breakfast and took his AM meds. After breakfast, he had a shave, shower and got dressed.  In the afternoon, he had lunch, exercised and napped while watching TV.  After dinner he watched TV In the comfort of his new chair. He loves his new chair, especially the heat.  I did the dishes, cleaned the kitchen and prepared morning meds and breakfast setup for tomorrow. Dr. Vesper took his pm meds and prepared for bed.

Monday, December 16, 2019

5:00-7:00     When I arrived, Dr. Vesper was in his recliner watching TV.  While he perused his mail, Stephanie and I discussed the day’s events.  After she left, I chatted with Dr. Vesper for a few minutes, took his dinner order, and began cooking.  His sister, Mary, called and he enjoyed a nice conversation with her during this time.  When dinner was served he had a hearty appetite and ate well.  His blood glucose level prior to eating was 143.

7:00-9:00     The remainder of my shift was quiet and uneventful.  After dinner, Dr. Vesper returned to the living room while I cleaned the kitchen, washed the dishes, and set out breakfast items and morning medications.  At bedtime I gave him his evening medications, then assisted him in the bathroom with his night time routine.  His pajama bottoms were slightly damp which necessitated a quick change.  Afterward, I helped him into bed and said good night.

Dinner:     Salad, sesame/ginger marinated baked salmon, peas, wild rice, toaster corn bread round, and diet cherry 7up.  No dessert.
