COMMENTS: I got Dr. Vesper up, after taking care of the animals.  He had a complete sponge bath and a change of clothes before breakfast. He had his morning meds with breakfast.  In the afternoon, he did exercise, watched TV and napped. After dinner he watched TV until bedtime. I cleaned up the kitchen and did dishes.  I prepared breakfast and a.m. meds for tomorrow.  He took his p.m. meds and prepared for bed.

CHORES: Filled food & water bowls, cleaned the litter box, swept front entrance, cleaned glass doors, sanitized countertops, vacuumed floors, touched up bathrooms, washed sheets, pad and blanket and remade bed, prepared meals.

COMMENTS: I took care of Hillary & Kemper and did chores until Dr. Vesper was ready to get up. He had breakfast and took his morning meds. I had to give him a sponge bath and get him dressed before breakfast because his pajamas were wet. In the afternoon, he did exercise, snoozed & watched TV After dinner, he watched TV until bedtime. I gave him his p.m. meds and he got ready for bed.  I set the table with morning meds and breakfast for tomorrow.

NOTE: We had to do several change of clothing today. He asked me for the urinal a couple of times, but I stood my ground and told him that we normally did not use the urinal during the day because it was important for him to get up and walk whenever possible. However, each time he asked for the urinal he had already urinated. Thankfully I have invested in a more absorbent pad for the new chair, which is working out very well.

CHORES: Filled food and water bowls for Hillary and Kemper, cleaned liter box, swept entrance, cleaned glass doors, vacuumed, sanitized counters, laundry (top sheet, pad, PJs, towels) made  bed, watered house plants, filled bird feeders, & prepared meals

VISITORS/WORKERS:  Gullet Sanitation – emptied septic tank, wasn’t completely full, but close enough to empty. Motor was not running, will send service tech back at another date.

COMMENTS:  Dr. Vesper was awake, but not ready to get up when I checked on him around 10:30 this morning, I gave him a few more minutes. He ate breakfast and took a.m. meds. After breakfast I gave Dr. Vesper a shave/shower and helped him get dressed. He had lunch, watched TV, did exercise and napped while I finished chores and did laundry. After dinner, he watched TV until bedtime. I set the table for breakfast and morning meds. He took his p.m. meds and got ready for bed.

COMMENTS:  Elena took care of Kemper and Hillary before I arrived. I got Dr. Vesper up, he had a sponge bath and dressed before breakfast so we could get the laundry started.  He had morning meds with breakfast. In the afternoon, Dr. Vesper did exercise, relaxed, watched TV and napped while Dr. Vesper watched TV after dinner, while I did the dishes and set the table for morning breakfast and a.m. meds. Dr. Vesper took his p.m. meds and prepared for bed.

COMMENTS: I fed Hillary and Kemper, filled water bowls, emptied litter box. I got Dr. Vesper up, he had breakfast and took his AM meds. After breakfast, he had a shave, shower and got dressed. In the afternoon, he had lunch, watched TV, exercised and took a nap. After dinner he watched TV while I did the dishes and cleaned the kitchen. I prepared morning meds and breakfast setup for tomorrow. Dr. Vesper took his pm meds and prepared for bed.

5:00-7:00     When I arrived, Dr. Vesper was relaxing in his recliner watching TV.  As always, Stephanie M filled me in on the day’s events before she left.  Doctor told me he was hungry, but requested an easy dinner.  As I was prepping the salad, he received a call from Mary.  They enjoyed a fairly lengthy conversation.  When it was time to come to the table, I noticed that Dr. Vesper’s clothes were wet, so I took him to the bathroom for a complete change and quick sponge bath.  He was weak and required a ride in the wheel chair.  When we were finished there, I wheeled him back to the dining room.  He ate slowly, but well.  His blood glucose level prior to eating was 144.

7:00-9:00     After dinner, Dr. Vesper returned to the living room while I cleaned the kitchen, washed the dishes, took out trash, and set out breakfast items and morning medications.  At bedtime I gave him his evening medications, then accompanied him to the bathroom for his night time toilette.  He was able to use the walker, but was obviously fatigued by the time I got him into bed.  I tucked him in and said good night.

Dinner:     Salad, chicken pot pie, and diet cherry 7up.

Visitors:  Andrew arrived just as I was leaving.  He was meeting Stephanie as she was returning the car.
