5:00-7:00     When I arrived, Rose and Mossy were coming from the bathroom having just finished Rose’s 4:30 toileting.  Dr. Vesper had been to the gym and church, and arrived just moments after I did .  Mossy updated me on recent events and offered dinner suggestions before leaving for the day.  After she left, I chatted with Doctor and Rose about his vacation, emptied the dishwasher, and began dinner prep.  They were seated and eating by 6:30.  Dr. Vesper had an excellent appetite, but Rose ate slowly and without her usual enthusiasm.  She was alert, but held her held in a downward position throughout the meal.  She did receive Targretin at this time.

7:00-9:00     After dinner, Doctor and Rose returned to the living room and watched television.  Rose remained quiet and was difficult to engage, but her posture did not worsen.  I cleaned the kitchen, washed the dishes, and set out breakfast items and morning medications.  She and Dr. Vesper received their evening medications at bedtime, including 1/2 Xanax with Rose’s.  When I took her back for her night time toilette, things ran in routine fashion beginning with me washing her faced and hands, then brushing and flossing her teeth.  She was tight lipped and I had more difficulty than usual with her oral hygiene.  She did not seem uncomfortable; but unable to allow me access.  She was very rigid while changing her clothes, but I did not have any difficulty getting her on/off the commode.  Her Depends were damp with a trace of stool and she had a very small bowel movement while seated.  I got her into bed and applied her eye drops easily.  She was alert and comfortable when I said good night to her.  Dr. Vesper was on his way to bed when I said good night to him.

Dinner:     Lemon pepper tilapia, sweet potato fries, rye bread, and jello salad.  Rose drank milk (Kefir) and Dr. Vesper had diet cherry 7up.  They both enjoyed cherry pie a la mode for dessert.

5:00-7:00     When I arrived, Rose was in the living room while Mossy and Dr. Vesper were getting ready to go to the airport.  Before leaving, Mossy brought me up to date on the day’s events and I helped her with a few last minute things.  After saying good bye, I took Rose for her afternoon toileting.  Her Depends were wet and she produced a very small BM.  We returned to the dining area and chatted while basking in the sunshine until it was time for dinner.  When asked, Rose stated she was hungry, so she was seated and eating by 6:15.  She also received Targretin at this time.

7:00-9:00     After dinner, I cleaned the kitchen and washed the dishes.  I also ran the sweeper and took the trash out.  Mossy got in touch to let me know she would be relieving me at the end of my shift.  Though chatty and alert earlier, Rose grew fatigued rapidly.  She was given her evening medication, including 1/2 Xanax, and we began her evening toilette in timely fashion.  We followed our typical routine with me washing her face and hands, then brushing and flossing her teeth.  Once again, her upper body was very rigid, so it occurred to me play some classical music from my cell phone while we were in the bathroom.  It seemed to have quite a calming effect while I put on her pajamas and got her onto the commode.  Her Depends were nearly dry, but she produced a large bowel movement while seated.  Between the music and tummy relief, she relaxed to the point of falling asleep!  Once finished, I got her into bed and applied her eye drops easily.  She was her loving, gracious self when I said good night.  Mossy arrived shortly after and I filled her in before leaving for the evening.

Dinner:     Fish sandwich and onion rings from Frisch’s, green beans, and milk.  Rose also had a very small scoop of raspberry chocolate chip ice cream for dessert.

4:00-7:00     When I arrived, Rose, Dr. Vesper, and Mossy were in the living area finalizing some of the details of Doctor’s upcoming trip to Florida.  Before leaving, Mossy brought me up to speed on the day’s events.  I fed the dog, set the table, and began cooking the dinner she was kind enough to prep.  I took Rose to the bathroom at 4:30.  Her Depends were dry and she urinated while seated.  Dr. Vesper retired to his bedroom for a short nap, while Rose supervised me in the kitchen.  We then returned to the living room and watched “Fiddler on the Roof” till dinner time.  Rose seemed to enjoy it, but was more subdued than earlier.  She was clenching her hands and I gave her the poseys, which she held throughout the remainder of my shift.   She and Doctor were seated and eating before 6:00 with both enjoying hearty appetites.  Rose received Targretin with her meal.

7:00-9:00     After dinner, Rose and Dr. Vesper returned to the living room while I cleaned the kitchen, washed the dishes, and set out breakfast items and morning medications.  Things ran in very routine fashion with the exception of a malfunction with the pill machine.  I notified Mossy of this and she will attend to it tomorrow.  Rose and Doctor did receive their evening medications at bedtime including 1/2 Xanax with Rose’s.  Her evening routine went in typical fashion with me washing her face and hands, then brushing and flossing her teeth.  Once again she was fairly rigid , but less leaning while on the commode.    Her Depends were still dry, and she produced minimum urine while seated.  She passed a lot of gas, but no bowel movement.  I did notice some of the same light vaginal discharge (white, milky).  I got Rose to bed and applied her eye drops easily.  She seemed comfortable as I said good night to her.  Dr. Vesper was in the living room when I said good night to him.

Dinner:     Salad, Italian chicken thighs, green beans, and wild rice.  Rose drank milk and Dr. Vesper had diet cherry 7up.  For dessert, they both had chocolate chip ice cream. (Lactaid for Dr. Vesper)

3:00-6:00     When I arrived, Mossy and Rose were in the living area and Dr. Vesper out running errands.  Mossy spent a few minutes bringing me up to speed on recent events before leaving for the day.  We transferred Rose to her recliner and though she didn’t seem sleepy, she nodded off almost immediately.  She continued to catnap off and on for the next hour.  At this time I fed Kemper, touched up the bathroom, set the table, and took Doctor’s dinner order.  Before leaving for church, Dr. Vesper helped me transfer her back to her wheelchair so I could take her for her 4:30 toileting.  She was quiet, but alert and focused, however leaned severely to her left while on the commode.  Her Depends were wet with a small stool, and she had a moderate BM while seated.  After we were finished, I returned Rose to the living room while I prepped the salad and began cooking dinner.  Dr. Vesper was later than expected, so Rose and I enjoyed watching “Two and a Half Men” together.  She was very interactive and chatty during the program.

6:00-9:00     Rose and Dr. Vesper were seated and eating by 6:30 with both enjoying hearty appetites.  Rose received  Targretin at this time.  After dinner, Rose joined me in the kitchen to help with clean up while Dr. Vesper searched for his misplaced cell phone.  He eventually found it in the pocket of his bathrobe.  They both returned to the living room while I finished the dishes and set out breakfast items and morning medications.  At bedtime they both received their evening medications including 1/2 Xanax with Rose’s.  When I took Rose for her evening toilette, she was alert, but quiet and her upper body fairly rigid.  I washed her face and hands, then brushed and flossed her teeth.  She was able to allow me to be very thorough tonight.  While on the commode, she produced nothing and her Depends were minimally damp.  I got her to bed and applied her eye drops easily.  She seemed very comfortable and was her usual loving and gracious self when I said good night.  Dr. Vesper was enjoying a bowl of ice cream at the dinner table when I said good night to him.  (I made sure he took Lactaid prior).

Dinner:     Salad, chicken cordon bleu, glazed carrots, parmesan noodles, and garlic bread.  Rose drank milk and Dr. Vesper had diet cherry 7up.  They both enjoyed ice cream for dessert.

3:00-6:00     Rose and Dr. Vesper were in the living room enjoying a snack when I arrived.  As always, Mossy brought me up to speed on the day’s events before leaving.  She also helped me transfer Rose to her recliner.  Though she seemed alert when I first arrived, she fell asleep immediately after the transfer.  At 4:00,  I fed the dogs and gave them their Dentastix, then woke Rose around 4:45 for her afternoon toileting.  She was in a pleasant mood and her Depends were dry when I got her on the commode.  She urinated and produced a very small stool while seated.  During clean up, I observed signs of a possible vaginal infection and notified Mossy to that effect.  She will contact Dr. Wilson in the morning.  I finished setting the table, cleaned the microwave,  ran the sweeper in the living room, kitchen, and laundry area, then began prepping the salads for dinner.

6:00-9:00     Rose and Dr. Vesper were seated and eating by 6:00 with both enjoying hearty appetites.  Rose began clenching her hands again, and I returned the “Poseys” to her.  She was alert and spoke frequently during the meal.  After dinner, she and Doctor returned to the living room to watch television.  The rest of my shift ran in very routine fashion.  I cleaned up the kitchen, washed the dishes, and set out breakfast items and morning medications.  I gave Rose and Doctor their evening medications, then took Rose back for her night time toilette.  Though rigid, I had no problems with washing her face and hands, then brushing and flossing her teeth.  She was fatigued and more quiet, but no leaning while on the commode.  She had a trace of stool in her Depends and a moderate BM while seated.  I got her to bed and applied her eye drops easily.  Dr. Vesper was on his way to bed and I said good night to them both.

Dinner:     Salad, rotisserie chicken, wild rice, carrots, and peas.  Rose drank milk and Dr. Vesper had diet cherry 7up.  They had petit fours for dessert.

4:00-7:00     When I arrived,  Dr. Vesper was in the living room watching television while Rose was with Mossy in the bathroom primping for a special Valentine’s Day dinner.  Before leaving, Mossy brought me up to speed on the days events, including tips on how to cook the delicious meal she had prepared.  In the meantime, I fed the dogs, gave them their Dentastix, and cleaned up an accident Rozsda had.  Stephanie and Andrew stopped by for a brief visit and to drop off Valentine goodies.  Rose was quiet, but alert and focused, and seemed to enjoy their visit.  Once everyone left, I took Rose for her afternoon toileting.  Her Depends were dry, and she urinated and produced a moderate BM while on the commode.  I returned her to the living room where she and Doctor watched TV until dinner.

7:00-9:00     Rose and Dr. Vesper both enjoyed a delicious dinner, though Rose’s appetite was less hearty than usual.  She remained quiet and maybe a bit less focused than earlier.  She did sit upright with no leaning throughout the meal as well as my entire shift.  Rose was given Targretin  at this time.  After dinner I cleaned the kitchen, washed the dishes, and set out breakfast items and morning medications.  While I did that, Dr. Vesper worked on cleaning candle wax that he inadvertently spilled on one of the table leaves.  I brought Rose into the kitchen to supervise us both in the meantime.  When we were finished, Rose and Doctor both took their night time medications.  He put the dogs to bed while I took Rose to the bathroom for her evening toilette.  It was late and she became more rigid, yet more chatty.  We did the usual routine of washing her face and hands, then brushing and flossing her teeth.  She had a loose, moderate BM in her Depends and produced more while on the commode.  When finished, I got her to bed and applied her eye drops easily.  She seemed very comfortable when I said good night to her.  Dr. Vesper was on his way to bed as well when I said good night to him.

Dinner:     Shrimp cocktail, steak, sweet potatoes, green beans and French baguette.  Rose drank milk and Dr. Vesper drank diet cherry 7up.  For dessert they enjoyed petit fours, moscato, and decaf.

5:00-7:00     When I arrived, Dr. Vesper was in the living room and Mossy was with Rose in the bathroom finishing her afternoon toileting.  Mossy brought me up to speed on the day’s events prior to leaving.  Because he had a very late lunch, Doctor asked that I delay dinner for a while.  Rose fell asleep in her wheelchair, so we transferred her to the recliner where she could be more comfortable.  There she slept soundly, but briefly, approximately 1/2 hour.  I replenished the dogs’ water bowl, set the table, prepped the salad, and took Doctor’s dinner order during this time.  He and Rose were seated and eating by 7:00 with both enjoying hearty appetites.  Rose received Targretin at this time.

7:00-9:00     Stephanie arrived as I was serving dessert in order to fill the pill machine.  I brought Rose into the kitchen to join us in conversation while we worked.  She was alert, but generally quiet and grew more fatigued.  As she and Stephanie visited, I loaded and ran the dishwasher, and set out breakfast items and morning medications.  Stephanie noticed the display on the pill machine said it was running on battery power, but working.  Jessica later called Dr. Vesper stating she received a text indicating a lack of power to the machine .  I did notify Mossy of the problem and she will research tomorrow.  At bedtime, Rose and Dr. Vesper received their night time medications including 1/2 Xanax with Rose’s.  Her evening toilette was uneventful beginning with me washing her face and hands, then brushing and flossing her teeth.  She was much less rigid with minimal hand clenching.  Her Depends were wet and she produced a large bowel movement while on the commode.  She was very quiet, but seemed comfortable when I put her to bed.  I applied her eye drops easily and said good night.  Dr. Vesper was in the living room when I said good night to him.

Dinner:     Dinner was another buffet of leftovers including salad, meatloaf, sweet and sour chicken, rice, green beans, roasted vegetables, and jello salad.  Rose drank milk and Dr. Vesper had diet cherry 7up.  For dessert, they had angel food cake topped with strawberries and whipped cream.
