5:00-7:00     When I arrived, Dr. Vesper was relaxing in his recliner.  While Michele brought me up to speed on the day’s events, Stephanie came in and introduced me to her friends who were in town for a brief visit.  When everyone left, I chatted with Dr. Vesper, took his dinner order, and began cooking.  He enjoyed a hearty appetite and ate well.  His blood glucose level prior to eating was 131.  I also applied the topical chemotherapeutic cream to his scalp at this time.

7:00-9:00     After dinner, Dr. Vesper returned to the living room while I cleaned the kitchen, washed the dishes, and set out breakfast items and morning medications.  Stephanie was in and out periodically doing some chores and tending to Sophie and her friends who were over for an evening swim. I took Kemper out on his leash a couple of times to prevent his getting in the pool with the kids.  At bedtime, I gave Dr. Vesper his night time medication, then assisted him to the bathroom.  He was tired, but, as always, bade me a very gracious good night once he was tucked into bed.  I found Stephanie, chatted with her for a few more minutes, then said good night.

Dinner:     Salad, sweet and sour chicken, wild rice, toaster corn bread round, diet cherry 7up, and ice cream (Lactaid).

Visitors:     Stephanie and her friends and family,  Sophie and her friends

5:00-7:00     When I arrived, Dr. Vesper was relaxing in his recliner while Mossy and Jessica were in the kitchen.  After Mossy left, I set the table and prepared a salad for Dr. Vesper.  Once the guests arrived I helped Dr. Vesper to the table where we enjoyed a wonderful meal and conversation.  Doctor’s blood glucose level prior to eating was 99.  I also applied the medicated topical cream to his scalp at this time.

7:00-9:00     After dinner, Dr. Vesper returned to the living room while everyone pitched in to clean up.  As things were winding down, I set out breakfast items and morning medications, ran the dishwasher, and gave Dr. Vesper his night time medications.  I assisted him into the bathroom, then to bed.  As always, he was very gracious as we said good night.  I spent a few minutes with Stephanie and Jessica before saying good bye to them.

4:00-7:00     When I arrived, Dr. Vesper was relaxing in his recliner watching  TV.  Mossy spent a few minutes bringing me up to speed on the day’s events.  After she left, I fed Kemper, chatted with Dr. Vesper, and emptied the dishwasher.  Stephanie and Charlotte arrived and were later accompanied by some friends for a dip in the pool.  Around this time I took Doctor’s dinner order, set the table, and began cooking.  Just before dinner was served I applied a topical cream medication to his scalp, then helped him to the table.  He enjoyed a hearty appetite and ate well.  Jessica and Tyler had a date with friends for a cook out.

7:00-9:00     After dinner, Dr. Vesper returned to the living room while I cleaned the kitchen, washed the dishes, and set out breakfast items and morning medications.  Sophie and a friend showed up to join in the outdoor fun.  I took Kemper out on his leash a couple of times so the kids wouldn’t have to worry about keeping him out of the pool.  At bedtime, I gave Dr. Vesper his evening medication and helped him to the bathroom to change his clothes and complete his night time routine.  Though he said he was tired, he asked that I turn on his TV once he was in bed.  I left him with his remote and said good night.  Stephanie was still there with the kids and said she would lock up.

Dinner:     Salad, Salisbury steak, macaroni and cheese, peas, garlic bread, diet cherry 7up, and ice cream (Lactaid).

Visitors:     Jessica, Tyler, Stephanie, Sophie, Charlotte, and friends.

4:00-7:00     When I arrived, I was greeted in the driveway by Danny, Jessica, and Mossy.  When I made my way inside, I found Dr. Vesper dozing in his recliner.  I said hello to him, and he fell quickly back to sleep while Mossy and I discussed the events of the last couple of weeks.  After she left, I set the table and prepped the salad for dinner.  When it was time to eat, Doctor requested a simple supper, which took just a few minutes to prepare.  I applied a topical medication to his scalp per Mossy’s instruction, then helped him to the table, where he enjoyed a hearty appetite.  His blood glucose level prior to eating was 149.

7:00-9:00     After dinner, Dr. Vesper returned to the living room to watch TV while I cleaned the kitchen and microwave, loaded the dishwasher, and set out breakfast items and morning medications.  I tried to engage Dr. Vesper in conversation, but he seemed fatigued, and continued to doze off/on through the remainder of my shift.  At bedtime I gave him his evening medication,  then assisted him to the bathroom for his night time routine.  Once in bed, he expressed his gratitude for my help and said good night.

5:00-7:00     When I arrived, Dr. Vesper was relaxing in his recliner watching TV.  While he perused his mail, Stephanie brought me up to speed on the day’s events.  It was a quiet start to my shift which continued through the evening.  When it was dinner time, I took his order and began cooking.  He received a call from his sister, Mary, just before dinner was served.  When they were finished chatting, he came to the table and enjoyed a hearty appetite.

7:00-9:00     After dinner, Dr. Vesper returned to the living room while I cleaned the kitchen, washed the dishes, took out trash, and set out breakfast items and morning medications.  At bedtime I gave him his evening medications and waited while he performed his night time routine.  I helped him into bed, tucked him in, and said good night.

5:00-7:00     When I arrived, Dr. Vesper was relaxing in his recliner.  Stephanie M and I discussed the day’s events before she left.  Sandy Hayslip had just finished working in the yard and came in briefly to drop some things off in the office and say good bye.  Doctor made his way to the bathroom unassisted and gave me his dinner order when he returned.  While he watched “Calamity Jane”, I began cooking.  When dinner was ready, Dr. Vesper enjoyed a hearty appetite, though he did need to stop for another bathroom break.  His blood glucose level prior to eating was 148.

7:00-9:00     After dinner, Dr. Vesper returned to the living room as I cleaned the kitchen, washed the dishes, and set out breakfast items and morning medications.  While he binge watched the Discovery Channel series, “Naked and Afraid”,  I also touched up the bathroom and vacuumed those areas where more gnats have made their way in and died.  At bedtime, I gave Dr. Vesper his medication and waited while he performed his night time routine.  He did not require assistance, but was visibly fatigued when he was finished and needed some help getting into bed.  I tucked him in and said good night.  As always, he was very gracious.

Dinner:     Salad, grilled ham and cheese, tomato soup, diet cherry 7up, and ice cream (Lactaid).

5:00-7:00     When I arrived, Dr. Vesper was relaxing in his recliner.  While Michele and I were discussing the day’s events, Dr. Vesper made his way to the bathroom.  We discovered that he needed a change of pajamas, and she was kind enough to assist him.  She left shortly after he was settled.  The house was in good shape with little for me to do.  I sat with Dr. Vesper for a few minutes, took his dinner order, and began cooking.  He was quiet throughout the meal, but enjoyed a hearty appetite.

7:00-9:00     After dinner, Dr. Vesper returned to the living room to watch more television.  He enjoyed a public TV show that featured popular musical artists and groups of the 1950’s-1960’s.  I cleaned the kitchen, washed the dishes, and set out breakfast items and morning medications.  I prompted him several times to visit the bathroom, but he had no more need.  At bedtime I gave him his evening medication and waited while he performed his night time routine.  I assisted him into bed, tucked him in, and said good night.
