5:00-7:00     When I arrived, Dr. Vesper was relaxing in his recliner watching TV.  It was a quiet start to my shift as Stephanie brought me up to speed on the day’s events.  After she left, Dr. Vesper and I chatted a bit, I then took his dinner order, and began cooking.  He enjoyed a hearty appetite and ate well.

7:00-9:00     After dinner, Dr. Vesper returned to the living room while I cleaned the kitchen, washed the dishes, and set out breakfast items and morning medications.  I sat with him for a bit and watched a National Geographic documentary on Amelia Earhart.  At bedtime I gave him his night time medication, then accompanied him to the bathroom while he completed his evening toilette.  I assisted him into bed, turned on his TV (per his request), and said goodnight.

Dinner:     Salad, sesame and ginger baked salmon, rice, peas, croissant, and diet 7up.  No dessert.

5:00-7:00     When I arrived, Dr. Vesper was in the living room watching TV.  As always, Michele brought me up to speed on the day’s events.  After she left, I chatted with Dr. Vesper for a bit and began cooking.  There was little to do as the house was in good shape and he requested a simple meal.  He did enjoy a phone conversation with his sister, Mary, just before dinner.  He ate well and his blood glucose level was 131.

7:00-9:00     After dinner, Dr. Vesper returned to the living room while I cleaned the kitchen, washed the dishes, and set out breakfast items and morning medications.  He spent most of his time watching Animal Planet.  At bedtime, I gave him his evening medications and waited while he performed his night time toilette.  He required some assistance with his pajamas and getting into bed.  Once he was tucked in, I said good night.

Dinner:     Salad, chicken pot pie, diet cherry 7up, ice cream (Lactaid)

5:00-7:00     When I arrived Dr. Vesper was in the bathroom.  Mossy and I chatted about the day’s events before she left.  There was little for me to do as the house was in good shape, the table set, and salad prepped, so I sat with Dr. Vesper until he was hungry.  When dinner was ready, he enjoyed a hearty appetite and ate well.  HIs blood glucose level prior to eating was 146.

7:00-9:00     The remainder of my shift ran in quiet, routine fashion.  After dinner, Dr. Vesper returned to the living room while I cleaned the kitchen, washed the dishes, and set out breakfast items and morning medications.  I also took out trash and touched up the bathroom.  Dr. Vesper was less talkative tonight and alternated between napping and watching TV.  At bedtime I gave him his evening medications and waited while he performed his night time toilette.  He did not require any assistance with this, but needed some help getting into bed.  Once he was tucked in, he was very gracious as we said good night.

Dinner:     Salad, marinated beef flank steak, mashed potatoes, corn on the cob, croissant, and diet cherry 7up.  No dessert.

5:00-7:00     When I arrived, Dr. Vesper was relaxing in his recliner.  Stephanie filled me in on the day’s events before she left.  I chatted with Dr. Vesper for a few minutes, took his dinner order, and began cooking.  He was fairly quiet throughout the meal, engrossed in the science channel.  He enjoyed a hearty appetite and ate well.

7:00-9:00     After dinner, Doctor returned to the living room while I cleaned the kitchen, washed dishes, set out breakfast items and morning medications, replenished Kemper’s water bowl, and touched up the bathroom.  I joined him in the living room and he became very conversant asking me about my family and reminiscing about Rose.  At bedtime I gave him his evening medication and waited while he performed his night time toilette.  I helped him into bed, tucked him in, and said good night.  He did ask that I turn on his TV so he could watch more of the science channel.

Dinner:     Salad, meat loaf, macaroni and cheese, peas, garlic bread, diet cherry 7up, and ice cream (Lactaid).

5:00-7:00     When I arrived, Dr. Vesper was in the bathroom.  Stephanie M. filled me in on the day’s events before she left.  After Dr. Vesper finished in the bathroom, I helped him get into a fresh pair of pajamas, then to the living room to watch TV as I began dinner prep.  It was a quiet dinner as we watched a show featuring various weather and storm phenomena.  He enjoyed a hearty appetite and ate well.
