Elena – Cleaned

COMMENTS:
Dr. Vesper had a 9:15 appointment with Midwest Eye Center and the Balance Center at 11a. Normally, Stephanie would have taken him, but today was moving day for Lily at school. I asked Elena to come in early to be with Rose while we were gone. I came in at 8 AM so I could get Rose up, dressed and fed. I had a really hard time getting Dr. Vesper up and out the door, his vertigo was much worse this morning, He required much more assistance than usual. We were 45 minutes late arriving to his first appointment, they worked him in, but it took much longer than usual. This meant we were about 50 minutes late for the next appointment, they were only able to see him due to a cancellation. It was almost 3p by the time we got back to NR, I decided to treat everyone to Front St Cafe’s delishous chicken salad for lunch. Elena made us a beautiful trifle, so we splurged with dessert for lunch. Elena said Rose did well, took a long nap, so she was able to get most of her work done. Since lunch was so late, we had a light dinner of leftovers and spent the evening relaxing and watching TV. PM meds and bedtime routine all normal.

NOTE TO CAREGIVERS:
Dr. Vesper’s eye drop schedule has changed, see notes on counter. Also, he has exercises to do to correct his vertigo issues, they should be done twice daily, please remind him.

COMMENTS:
Rose had a pretty average day, she was comfortable, ate well and had an afternoon nap. She was quiet all day, but more verbal at bedtime. Dr. Vesper was up, ate breakfast and went back to bed. Dr. Vesper had an appointment with his Podiotrist today, which I had planned to cancel, but Joan called to see if he wanted to go to church and offered to take his to his appointment after church. He was very happy to get to go to church, Joan said several people came up to him to express their concern about his absences over the past few weeks. They had lunch between church and the Podiotrist. It was a little after 3p when they got home. After going through his mail and reading the WSJ, he watched TV until dinner. Dinner, clean up and bedtime prep all routine.

NOTE:
Hillary got out of the house while I was filling the bird feeders this afternoon. We all looked everywhere for her, not to be found. Even checked the lower garage/basement and the attic, all was open while Hank was here. I called the neighbor, the vet & animal control, everyone is on the lookout for her, hopefully she will come home when she gets hungry.

COMMENTS:
Rose was alert, but non verbal.  Mary Lou spent the afternoon with Rose, she said Rose was alert and enjoyed music and was awake until just before we arrived back home. Dr. Vesper went back to bed after breakfast and I had a hard time getting him up for his appointment with The Center for Balance, we were about 20 minutes late.  Dr. Wilson referred him to The Center For Balance to treat his vertigo and hopefully get him off the walker. He had difficulty with most exercises, but the goal is to improve over the next few weeks. He is scheduled every Tue/Thur through September, also has exercises to do at home twice daily. Today was Stephanie’s birthday, Andrew and the girls made dinner for her, including a homemade cake by Sophie. The whole family arrive around 9:30 to share cake and ice cream with us. COMMENTS:
Rose had an appointment with Dr. Corl today, so we were up and moving. Dr. Vesper went back to bed after breakfast. He wanted to go with us so he could run a couple of errands. We were late getting to Dr. Corl’s office because it was difficult to get him moving, and to make matters worse, he set off the alarm and we had to go back to the house to meet the police and turn off the alarm:( I knew it would be a long afternoon, so I took Rose’s 2 PM meds and a light lunch for her to eat on the go. His drivers license expired on his birthday, I was hoping he wouldn’t remember, but he received a notice in the mail from the state of Ohio this morning and insisted on renewing his license today, it was a difficult process for all concerned. We also had to make a stop at the pharmacy and the bank. By the time we finally made it home, the chef was off duty, we had a quick soup and sandwich tonight. A littl TV after dinner, followed by PM meds and the usual bedtime routine.

COMMENTS:
Rose had a wonderful day, she was alert and cheerful, had a nice afternoon nap. Dr. Vesper was up and eating breakfast when I arrived. He was up longer than usual, about 2 hours, but decided to go back for a nap. I picked up the mail for him later when he got up. He had a snack and spent some time going through the mail and reading magazines and the WSJ. Jennifer recorded (2) CDs of their favorite music for their anniversary, which they enjoyed listening to after nap time. Today was their 56th anniversary, they celebrated with a special dinner and exchanged cards, candy & flowers.  Stephanie, Charlotte and her friend came by for a swim and a visit after attending the  festivities at River Days in the Village.  We all enjoyed a spectacular fireworks at the end of the evening, courtesy of the village. Everyone had their pm med and were all tucked in before I left.

After lunch and 2p meds, Rose had a late afternoon shower, followed by a good nap. Dr. Vesper was having breakfast when I arrived, was up for about 2 hours before going back fo a long nap. I picked up the mail and made him a snack when he got up. After dinner, they watched TV while I cleaned up the kitchen and prepared for bedtime routine.
