NOTE:
Approval finally came through for on-house PT and Dr. Vesper was moved from the ICU to the PT unit.  He will be reevaluated next Tues/Wed  to see if he needs a second week of in-house therapy before coming home.

COMMENTS:
I was up early this morning, getting some extra cleaning done and preparing for an early birthday dinner with Rose’s siblings. Rose slept in till 9:30, I would’ve let her slept longer, but she was ready to get up. In between loads of laundry, I did ROM exercise with Rose, then did her hair and changed her clothes for dinner. Everyone arrived around 330, we had a simple soup and sandwich dinner and a relaxing evening with family. We had the table cleared, the dishwasher loaded and everyone headed home by 6:30. Rose had PM meds and ready for bed @ 9:45p.

NOTE:
PT approval came through for Dr. Vesper late today and he was moved to physical therapy floor, where he will be for at least one week.

COMMENTS:
Jessica and Tyler were having breakfast when I arrived. Rose was still sleeping, I gave her morning meds and allowed her a few minutes to wake up while I started breakfast. Tyler got a boo-boo this morning, a fall on the hardwood floor rendered a bloody lip, but no loss of teeth.  Rose had a late afternoon shower, she was very rigid and the shower took a lot out of her today.  I hardly had her dressed before she was asleep, no fancy hairdo today. Stephanie stopped by for a visit, she played with Tyler while Jessica packed and got ready for their trip home today. Mary Lou arrived around 3p to take Jessica and Tyler to the airport. Rose and I had a quiet afternoon/evening, a dinner of leftovers, pm meds and off to an early bedtime, all tucked in and snoring by 9p.

NOTE:
Kemper brought a groundhog home this evening. At first I thought he had found it and brought it here after it had met its fate elsewhere, but after begging and disposing, I think Kemper might have been the executioner, let’s just say there was fresh blood on the entrance wall & floor, which required hot soapy water.

COMMENTS:
Rose  was still sleeping when I arrived, I put away the groceries before getting her up.  Jennifer did some catching up with her office before leaving for the hospital.  After breakfast, exercise and a few chores, Rose had a shower, followed by a nap.  Jennifer picked Jessica and Tyler up at the airport around 3p, they went to the hospital before coming home later. I made dinner for Rose and prepared for her bedtime routine.  Rose was alert and more responsive today, especially in the evening.  Jennifer crawled in bed with Rose and had a little mother-daughter time, Jennifer will be leaving early tomorrow morning.

COMMENTS:
Rose had a pretty average day, ate well and had her usual naps. Jennifer Spent most of the day at the hospital and picked up pizza on the way home. Andrew, the girls and Claire joined us for dinner.  Rose woke up with a bruise on her left temple this morning, don’t know how she got it, but guessing it was getting in and out of vehicle yesterday.

NOTE:
Dr. Vesper is being moved back to ICU and will start heparin today.

NOTE:
Before Jennifer left for the hospital this morning, I helped her move the liquor bottles from the countertop to the cabinet over the refrigerator.  I emptied several old bottles, and moved some of the less popular bottles to the west wing kitchen. I also moved the small microwave, which freed up the corner and made lots of extra space.  Thanks Jennifer, for the motivation!

COMMENTS:
Jennifer spent the night with Rose last night. Rose was still in the same spot this morning, don’t think she moved. When I arrived, Jennifer left for the hospital. I got the birthday girl up, gave her a quick breakfast and then off to the showers. Sandy came over after work and helped me get Rose out of the house in her big chair and loaded into the van. We drove to the hospital to have a little birthday celebration with her sweetie. He was very happy to see her and they enjoyed some long awaited handholding. His spirits were lifted so much from seeing Rose, it was well worth the effort. We had Rose’s famous recipe or beef and peppers for her birthday dinner, courtesy of Jennifer. Shortly after cake and ice cream, I started roses bedtime routine and talk to her in before leaving for the evening.
