They had breakfast and was dressed by the time Alan and Veva stopped by for a visit. The rest of the afternoon was very busy with people &6 phone calls. Dr. Vesper was in the mood for spaghetti, but didn’t eat very much, his appetite hasn’t been good lately. Stephanie came by after dinner for a visit. After p.m. meds I got Rose ready for bed and then assisted Dr. Vesper.

NOTE:
Dr. Vesper had trouble urinating last night and today, he felt the urge, but couldn’t produce any urine. The nurse tried for a urine sample but no success, we’ll try again tomorrow.

Rose slept well last night and was awake and ready to get up a little after 9a this morning. After breakfast Rose dozed off for a short nap, I started the laundry and did a few chores. Dr. Vesper will be released from the hospital late this afternoon. Stephanie stopped by this morning to pick up clothes for him to wear home. He is very eager to get home, 20 days is a long time! After lunch and 2 PM meds, Rose took another short nap. I set the table and got dinner started. At 4:30 I took Rose to the bathroom for a potty break, then changed her clothes and did a quick touch up on her hair and face. They arrived home from the hospital around 6:30, he was very happy to see everyone. Andrew and the girls arrived a few minutes later. Dinner was ready to come out of the oven when everyone arrived. After dinner we had “welcome home” cake and ice cream, which Stephanie picked up at Baskin’s bakery. Andrew and the girls cleared the table and loaded the dishwasher, while Stephanie and I went over hospital discharge information. Stephanie had to make a quick run back to Kroger pharmacy to pick up a script while I got started with meds and bedtime routine.

I was up early this morning, had my coffee while I watched the fog clear and the river appear, so peaceful. Rose was awake and ready to get up at 9a. She did her exercise, listened to music and napped while I did routine chores. Sandy and Rachel came by to check on us in the afternoon. Rachel gave Kemper a good workout with his favorite game of throwing/catching sticks. Dr. Vesper Called while they were here, he was excited to talk to Sandy. COMMENTS:
I was up early and a good start to the day. Rose slept in till 9a, she was awake and ready to get up when I checked on her. She ate well and although she did have an afternoon nap, she was not the sleepyhead she was yesterday. After a good round of exercises Rose relaxed and listen to music while I was on a very long phone call with Humana. Rose and I relaxed and watched a little TV after dinner, then she had her p.m. meds and we prepared for bed.

NOTE:
I had a 1-hour scheduled phone call with Humana social service case manager for the @ Vesper’s, regarding any special needs they might have. It was a very productive conversation, she provided me with lots of information, which I will be following up on in the next few days. Most services are income based and would not apply here. However, some are private pay and may prove to be a good source for some much needed services, such as transportation.

She fell asleep immediately after dinner, I actually had to wake her to give her pm meds and get her ready for bed.

COMMENTS:
Rose slept very well last night, was awake and ready to get up at 9a. She ate breakfast and then relaxed while I did the dishes and routine chores. We had a nice / quiet day, no visitors. Rose napped off & on throughout the afternoon. I was able to give her a much needed pedicure while she was sleeping. We had an early dinner, cleanup, PM meds and in bed @ 9a

NOTE:
Dr. Vesper had a few friends & family visit him today. Jeannie called early afternoon to say she had visited him earlier and took him a rose to remind him to work hard in PT so he could get home to the real ROSE. Jeannie said she had talked to Stephanie and she and the girls were going to visit him later. Joan and Chuck arrived home from New Mexico yesterday and both visited him today, they sat in on his PT session and reported he did extremely well. Mary called to give Rose and I an update, per Joan. I mention these minor details because, Dr. Vesper called tonight to say he was very bored, had NO visitors today. I said are you sure, I thought Jeannie was going to visit, also heard Joan was back from NM and was coming to see you. He said, they must’ve changed their mind, nobody came😢

Stephanie – Spent the night

COMMENTS:
Rose  slept well last night and didn’t wake up until 9:30 this morning. We had a leisure morning, after breakfast Rose relaxed while I did the dishes and finished a few chores. We had just finished her exercise and was getting ready for her shower when Hank showed up. Since they planned on working  in the hallway, I decided to postpone her shower until tomorrow.  While Hank was here I had him pull out the ramp Dale Terry made a few years ago. It was light weight and worked well, except not wide enough to accommodate the new chair.  He added a board to each side, as a temporary fix. The boards made it  heavier and it’s not so pretty, but it will work until something better can be accomplished.  Dr. Vesper’s Humana case manager (Stacy Brylia) called this morning to check on him. Somewhere in our conversation, the ramp issue came up.  She thought that might be something Humana could help with, she placed a call to a Humana social worker, who called me later in the afternoons to scheduled a 30-45 minute call this Monday 10/16.  The purpose of this call will be to have and in-depth conversation about any special needs for both Lee and Rose. Stacy Brylia has been a godsend,  she has been so beneficial in solving issues for me.  Jeannie came by tonight to pay a few bills and organize doctor/hospital bills/Humana EOBs. Jeannie’s husband was busy tonight so she joined Rose and I for dinner, we had a carry out from Front Stee Cafe.  Jeannie was here a little longer than usual, trying to stay ahead of the game on all of the medical bills.  Rose and I started our bedtime routine after her p.m. meds,  she was all tucked in by 9P.
