Lowell / Cropper Plumbing – Plumbing issues in laundry room

COMMENTS:
I got Rose up at 10:30, Dr. Vesper slept in until 11. After breakfast I gave Rose a manicure, not her favorite thing, but we managed. Earlier today I noticed water dripping from the pipes going across the ceiling in the laundry room. I didn’t think it was a leak, just heavy duty condensation. I sent a picture via text to Lowell, fortunately he was nearby and was able to stop in to check on us.  It was only condensation, which required a minor adjustment to the humidifier. He also replaced a bad gasket in the bathroom sink.  Chuck wasn’t able to come over after work today, but called to say he would be here tomorrow.  Other than exercise, everyone had a slow day of TV and naps.  Dinner, p.m. meds and bedtime all routine.

In the afternoon Dr. Vesper got a manicure and a good round of exercise.  He watched a little football, but seem to be bored with TV, finally turned it off and took a nap.  Rose took a nice long nap as well. While they slap I made a few phone calls. Chuck will come over tomorrow and try to get the tractor started so we can get the snow blade on the truck. TV after dinner, pm meds at bedtime.

Jeannie – Bkkpr
Stephanie – Pill machine
Andrew – Returned Dr. Vesper’s car

COMMENTS:
Rose had a very loose bowl movement just before I got her out of bed this morning.  It was necessary to change her in bed and then straight to the shower. This resulted in a complete change of bed linen, including blanket and throw.  Jeannie came this morning and brought donuts for everyone. After I got Rose somewhat cleaned up, I gave her a doughnut and a bottle of ensure  to hold her over until after her shower.  Except for a lot of laundry, the day was all uphill from this point. Rose was in a very good mood today, chattered and laughed a lot, she was still pretty chatty when Stephanie and Andrew arrived just before bedtime. I even talked Dr. Vesper into a shower in the afternoon, I told him Rose had a shower, the bed linen was all clean  and no one was getting into bed without a shower tonight. Prior to his shower, I gave him a shave & a haircut, a new man! (A very productive day) Some good napping in the afternoon after everyone was clean and warm.  We had an easy dinner of leftovers, and then a little TV before bed. P.m. meds and bedtime routine all normal.

VISITORS/WORKERS:
CoaguCheck Nurse – Training for PT/INR testing

COMMENTS:
Rose was the first up this morning, she had her breakfast and then relaxed while I caught up on chores. It was almost noon before Dr. Vesper got up, he was just finishing his breakfast when the nurse arrived,  she was here about 45 minutes.  Her training included preparing the machine, drawing the blood, testing and reporting the results.  I think it will take a while to get comfortable with the process, but they have good tech-support in case we forget one of the many details.  It’s a lot more complicated than the glucometer, a lot of steps to remember. Dr. Vesper was unable to recall any of the instructions. Shower time in the afternoon, followed by a nice nap.  Uneventful evening, dinner p.m. meds and bedtime all routine.

NOTE:
We had an incident at the end of Rose’s toileting at bedtime. She was all the way up on the lift when she started bucking like a spooked horse. She was never in any danger of falling, as she was well contained by the lift straps. She was quite obviously frightened and it took me a few seconds to calm her down. She had just had a BM in her depends and I was just starting to clean her bottom, so we were in a difficult position. Her back and head was very close to the wall and when she started the bucking motion she hit the back of her head 3-4 times on the wall, so she may well have a bump on her head tomorrow. I got her cleaned up as quickly as possible and all appeared normal when I tucked into bed. Dr. Vesper was in bed and even with the TV on very loud, he heard the commotion and called out to see if I needed help. I first thought she was having a seizure, but I’m sure she just got frightened.

COMMENTS:
Dr. Vesper had aquatic physical therapy today, but didn’t go because Elena was unable to be here today because she had the flu. I got Rose up a little after 10a, she had finished breakfast by the time Dr. Vesper got up about 45 min later. They both had exercise in the afternoon, then napped and watched TV.   I started a chuck roast (courtesy of Stephanie) in the crockpot first thing this morning, the delicious smells in the house all afternoon made everyone hungry and ready for dinner. PM meds and bedtime routine all ran smoothly.

NOTE:
I spent some time this afternoon working on prescriptions for Rose, looks like we’ll have the same old problem with her Carbatrol again this year, request/deny/appeal/approve/FRUSTRATION.  I started the process for Dr. Vesper’s Ranexa, still waiting on an answer.
