COMMENTS:
I arrived early to get Kemper to his 9:30 vet and grooming appointment. After dropping Kemper off, I did a few chores before getting Rose up and dressed for the day. While she was having breakfast, Dr. Vesper got up and joined her at the table for his morning meds and breakfast. After lunch I got a call to pick camper up, Colton went with me to manhandle Kemper, he gets so excited when he gets to come home. Kemper hadn’t been groomed in awhile, he looked like a new, very handsome man! Sandy “pretended” to come inside for a break while I was gone. They spent the afternoon watching TV and napping. After dinner I cleaned up the kitchen and washed the dishes, set out breakfast items for tomorrow, gave pm meds and prepared for bedtime routine.
NOTE:
We had a bit of excitement this afternoon, (2) large snakes paid us a visit!! Kemper spotted the first one trying to climb up my car, thank goodness my windows were up. Of coarse, Kemper wanted to attack, but thankfully, Colton was able to pull him off by his collar. While Colton was trying to get Kemper into the house, they encountered the second snake near front door. Sandy and I wanted to kill them, but doc said no. He wanted them taken to the woods, I opted out of that mission, fine print in my contract says NO snake duty. Using a long pole, Sandy kept flipping them until she got them to the woods just passed the wood piles. I’m not much of an “animal” person, I have taken on a dog, a cat and the birds, but I draw the line at snakes🐍 CAREGIVERS: last year Susan and I both encountered a snake inside the house, one on the kitchen floor and one near the hallway door going out to the pool. If you ever have a similar situation, use the long handle dustpan & broom (in Hillary’s bathroom) to sweep up, take outside and toss over the hill. Hope my next job is in the city😏
