Cropper Plumbing – Lowell & helper

COMMENTS: Lowell came early today, since he was squeezing us in before his first appointment. I met him at the house at 9a,  he and his helper started outside, since the clog was beyond the interior plumbing.   Dr. Vesper got up at 10:30, had his morning meds with breakfast. After breakfast I assisted him with shaving, showering and dressing. We left for the dentist at 1:15.   His dental news was not good, he needs 3 fillings and 2 crowns, next appointment 12/20.  We picked up dinner at Olive Garden restaurant on our way home. It was too early for dinner, so we we reheated later when Tyler got up from his nap.  Dr. Vesper watch TV until bedtime. He took his p.m. meds and I helped him change into PJs and get into bed.

NOTE:
The plumbing problem required major digging and drilling outside, the culprit turned out to be tampons. For anyone who doesn’t know, feminine hygiene products should not be flushed.

COMMENTS:
I stayed overnight last night because we had a very early day. I got Dr. Vesper up at 6:30a, he was confused about why he was getting up while it was still dark.  I explained to him that we had to be at the funeral home at 8 AM for prayer before the possession to IHM for the funeral.  I rushed him through a quick bowl of cereal, a scone & coffee  with his morning meds.  Like yesterday, Jennifer and Tom assisted with dressing. All went well at the funeral, the cemetery would have been difficult without a few strong men. Several friends & family members came back to the house after the cemetery.  After everyone left, I helped  Dr. Vesper into casual clothes and he relaxed the rest of the evening. Tom and Chase had a flight home and left for the airport early evening.  Everyone is snacked on lunch leftovers for dinner. Dr. Vesper took his p.m. meds and went to bed early.

NOTE:
We had a major plumbing issue today in the east wing bathroom (Hillary‘s suite). The clog was so bad the plumber couldn’t clear, will be back tomorrow with industrial strength equipment and a helper.

COMMENTS:  Dr. Vesper was very slow this morning, took a really long time finishing his breakfast and reading.  Jennifer & Tom picked up lunch on their way back home from running errands. After lunch, I got him into the shower right away.  Dressing was a team effort, Jennifer helped me get him dressed while Tom tied his tie. We left for the funeral home at 3:30.  It was a long, sad and tiring evening for Dr. Vesper. We tried to get Dr. Vesper to eat when we got home, but he said he wasn’t  hungry and wanted to go to bed. He took his p.m. meds and I helped him change into PJs and get into bed.

COMMENTS:
Dr. Vesper seem to have come to the realization of his loss, he was very quiet and sad most of the day. He had several calls, but no visitors, besides his daughters. He didn’t really take a nap, but dozed off in his chair a few times. In between meals, he watched TV. After dinner he watched a wonderful TV special on Pearl Harbor. I gave him his p.m. meds before he went to bed
