After breakfast he relaxed for a bit before doing his exercises.  I gave Dr. Vesper a manicure, followed by a shave and shower. He was dressed and ready when Andrew came to pick him up at 2 PM. They spent about an hour doing guy stuff.  I made lunch when he returned, he ate and then took a nap. After dinner, he watch TV until bedtime. I did dishes, cleaned up the kitchen, set the table for breakfast and morning meds. He took his p.m. meds and got ready for bed.

NOTE TO CAREGIVERS:
While Dr. Vesper was out with Andrew, I went to Berry’s and purchased a new urinal. I actually purchased two, one for a back up, which I stored in the nightstand. Hoping the new one doesn’t stain as quickly, now that he is drinking more water.

Riverside electric – Generator service

COMMENTS: I got Dr. Vesper up at 10:30, he had morning meds with breakfast and did his reading.  After he finished reading, I assisted him with OT. He watched TV and ate lunch before Alex arrived.   He worked very hard for Alex today, walked without the walker for the first time. After dinner he watched TV until bedtime. I did the dishes and set the table for morning breakfast and a.m. meds. Dr. Vesper took his p.m. meds before going to bed.

NOTE:
This past Sunday we had a power outage, which lasted almost two hours. Unfortunately, the generator did not kick in. I called for service, and they came out today.  They knew what the problem was because several other people had the same issue.  On January 30th our temperature dropped to a -4°, condensation in the pipe going to the propane froze and shut down the generator.  Had I called for service, they would have came out right away to correct the problem, but I wasn’t aware that it wasn’t working until we needed it This past weekend, when a wind storm took out the power to most of new Richmond.  There was nothing to be repaired, since the ice had since melted, but the system needed to be reset and tested, which required turning the electric off to kick in the generator.

With the generator situation resolved, we got back to the events of the day.  All was well until Dr. Vesper tried to turn on the TV. After many reboot attempts, I called service.  The service tech walked me through several fixes before the problem was solved. We think the wifi signals were messed up when the power was turned off and on by the generator tech.

COMMENTS:  I had most of the chores completed  before getting Dr. Vesper up at 10:45 . After breakfast, morning meds and reading, I helped him get shaved, showered and dressed. He had a short nap before Alex arrived at 4p for his therapy. After dinner he relaxed and watched TV. I prepared morning meds and breakfast setup for tomorrow.  He watched TV and then took his pm meds and prepared for bed.

NOTE TO CAREGIVERS:
Stephanie Maxwell reported finding a pill, which  she presumed Dr. Vesper had dropped. This means Dr. Vesper did not get the benefit of that medication, not to mention the potential danger of Hillary or Kemper having access to same.  Please sit at the table and hand him one pill at a time and watch to make sure he has placed it securely in his mouth.  Usually, Kemper is sleeping under the table while Dr. Vesper has breakfast, but rest assured, if something falls on the floor he will be on it immediately. I place one pill at a time on his placemat, watch him pick it up and put it in his mouth. His hands are shaky and we need to be watchful. This is a new procedure with him, but I think it will  eleminate this problem.

I did the dishes and set the table for morning breakfast and a.m. meds. Dr. Vesper took his p.m. meds before going to bed.

NOTE:
Dr. Vesper actually broke a sweat today during physical therapy. At first I was concerned, because I haven’t seen him sweat since he used to work in the yard in 90° weather. Alex seem to be a little surprised as well, but said he was fine, just worked him a little harder today. Alex did rechecked his vitals before leaving and said all was normal.

NOTE 2:
Two (2) trees are down across driveway near dip. I will try to have them removed tomorrow, but just in case, go through the school unless I let you know otherwise.
