COMMENTS: I took care of Hillary and Kemper before getting Dr. Vesper up at 9:30a. He ate breakfast and took a.m. meds. After breakfast, I gave Dr. Vesper a shave, shower and helped him get dressed. We were ready to leave at 11a. We met Mary Del in Kenwood for lunch at noon. We had a very nice lunch at Cooper’s Hawk Winery. After lunch we went to Dr. Eric Schwetschenau’s office, first for a hearing test and then to discuss hearing aid options. His hearing had not change that much since he was tested two years ago. They adjusted his one hearing aid and gave him three options to consider. The adjustment made a huge difference, with just the one hearing aid the TV volume Went from 60 to 28. Since he had a large lunch, he wasn’t hungry enough for a full dinner and opted for soup and sandwich around 7p. He relaxed and watched TV until bedtime. I did dishes, cleaned up the kitchen, set the table for breakfast and morning meds. He took his p.m. meds and got ready for bed.
NOTE TO CAREGIVERS:
Dr. Vesper‘s hearing aid will be in a silver oval case on his nightstand. You will need to remind and assist him with getting it on in the morning, and watch to make sure he doesn’t take it off and lay it down during the day. He took it out of his ear on the way home and placed it on the seat next to him, I just happened to see it, otherwise I would’ve never found it. He took it out later in the evening while watching TV and placed it on the side table. Both times, he couldn’t remember why he removed it from his ear, didn’t think it was uncomfortable. He used to take it out and put it in his robe pocket, if you have to wash his robe, check the pockets!
