After breakfast I gave him a shave and a shower and helped him get dressed. In the afternoon, he had lunch, watched TV and did exercise.  He had a long nap before dinner. After dinner, he watch TV until bedtime.  He seemed tired and was ready for bed a little earlier than usual. Other than being tired and sleepy, he was much better today. I did dishes, cleaned up the kitchen, set the table for breakfast and morning meds. He took his p.m. meds and got ready for bed.

NOTE:  I talked to Dr. Wilson this morning about Dr. Vespers standing BP yesterday.  He decided to lower the milligrams from 180 to 120 on his Diltiazem.  I picked up a 30 day supply at Barry’s Pharmacy and made the change in his pill boxes.

NOTE TO CAREGIVERS:  His new hearing aids are not working, I have an appointment to take them in on Monday to be checked. In the meantime, please use his old one with the battery, it’s only one, but better than nothing.

COMMENTS: I got Dr. Vesper up shortly after I arrived this morning, he had morning meds with breakfast and read the newspaper. He had a thorough sponge bath and got ready for his appointment with Dr. Perkins, neurologist. Dr. Perkins is a new physician for Dr. Vesper, he is in the Riverhills group but Dr. Vesper has not seen him previously. Dr. Wilson wanted Dr. Vesper to see him because he specializes in Parkinson’s and he wants to rule Parkinson’s out officially. Dr. Vesper had another late lunch today followed by a nap. We didn’t do exercise today, he was too tired. I did the dishes and set the table for morning breakfast and a.m. meds. Dr. Vesper took his p.m. meds before going to bed.

NOTE: Dr. Vesper had a bad day, his strength was below normal, I had to use the wheelchair to and from his doctors appointment and throughout the day until early evening. He was very weak at the doctors office. I requested a standing BP, which was 95/55. Two nurses had to hold him because he was unable to stand long enough to get a reading. He did poorly on his mental evaluation (score 18 of 30). I was surprised, since he did so well last week in Dr. Wilson’s office. The good news is Dr. Perkins ruled out Parkinson’s disease. There was definitely something going on with him today. I called Dr. Wilson’s office when we got back to the car, thinking he may want me to stop by his office, since we were just around the corner. I forgot they are out of the office on Thursday afternoon, I will call Dr. Wilson in the morning. Dr. Vesper did bounce back somewhat just before bedtime.
