Dr. Vesper had a podiatrist appointment @ 2p, and then spent the rest of the afternoon visiting the admin office in the village. Chalimar called earlier in the day to schedule additional training from 5 to 8 PM. Jeannie also came tonight to get caught up on some paperwork.

COMMENTS:
Rose had an appointment @ 11a with Dr. Corl, which was really pushing it, but we made it on time. She had a good exam, heart rate 68, BP 130/72, next visit six months. After her appointment with Dr. coral we met Mary Lou at the Olive Garden to celebrate her birthday. We partied until almost 3p, had a great time. Since Dr. Vesper wasn’t hungry and Rose had a late lunch, they had a lite dinner – which helped me get cought up with e laundry.

COMMENTS:
As usual, the best part of her shower was getting it over with. After lunch and 2p meds, Rose had a nice long nap. While she was sleeping I was able to get the flowers planted in the large patio vases. I finished the gardening just in time to get everyone ready for Mary Lou’s birthday dinner at Bob & Helens. Clara brought the kids to swim just as we were leaving. We had a delicious dinner and a very pleasant evening. Bedtime ran a little late because we didn’t get home until almost 10p. Just another fun packed busy day and Rose took it all in stride, she was very quiet, but in her observation mode.

COMMENTS:
I trained a new caregiver today. Unfortunately, we got off to a late start because Dr. Vesper had gone back to bed and didn’t get up until around 10:30. He had been sick with a nasty cold all week and I felt like he needed the extra rest. When he got up he said his cough had kept him awake most of the night. Rose was very quiet today, but didn’t seemed to mind the tortures of training. CJ was a quick study and did very well. CJ’s personality blended well with both Rose and Dr. Vesper, I think she will be a good fit. We had a very short day, because Susan relieved me at 5p. CJ will get evening training with Susan tomorrow night.

COMMENTS:
Rose had a difficult morning through her bathing and dressing process, she appeared to be in pain, but was fine after she was dressed. I was able to get a few plants in the large vases on the patio while Rose took a long nap in the afternoon.

Dr. Vesper had a follow-up appointment with Dr. Wilson at 3:30 today, but decided to go after church at 1p, (and I quote) to save himself some driving time:( He was supposed to run an errand between 1:00-3:30, which was to bring mulch back for Sandy to spread, needless to say that didn’t happen – oh well, another day. The good news is the chest x-ray showed no pneumonia, but he did prescribe additional prednisone, which will start at the end of the ZPAC.

NOTE TO OTHER CAREGIVERS:
New medication for Dr. Vesper is on counter next to pill machine. Medication is in pill machine cups and directions are well marked on lids. Any questions, please call me. Please try to keep him inside as much as possible, to avoid pollen.
