COMMENTS: I took care of Hillary and Kemper when I arrived. I got Dr. Vesper up, he had breakfast and took his AM meds. After breakfast, he had a sponge bath and got dressed.  In the afternoon, he had lunch, watched TV, exercised and took a nap. After dinner he watched TV while I did the dishes and cleaned the kitchen. I prepared morning meds and breakfast setup for tomorrow. Dr. Vesper took his pm meds and prepared for bed.

NOTE: Dr. Vesper was still on the right side of the bed when I arrived this morning, he and the bed were both dry, yay! When he was ready to go to bed tonight he asked me “where am I sleeping tonight”, I replied “in your room” and he said “no, I mean which side of the bed.” He remembered the change, a very positive sign.

COMMENTS: Dr. Vesper got up at 10a, I had just arrived and was feeding Kemper and Hillary when Dr. Vesper came walking down the hall from the bathroom. He had removed his wet pajamas in the bathroom, but didn’t know where to find clean ones. I took him back to the bathroom and gave him a sponge bath and helped him get dressed. He had breakfast and took his a.m. meds. He had lunch in the afternoon, then exercise and a nap.  After dinner, he watched Monday night football.  I cleaned up the kitchen and did dishes.  I prepared breakfast and a.m. meds for tomorrow.  He took his p.m. meds and got ready for bed.

NOTE: My brilliant idea last night backfired on me, resulting in a full day of laundry. I moved Dr. Vesper to the other side of the bed last night, but sometime during the night he either rolled back to the other side or got out of bed and walked around to the other side. Unfortunately, I had also moved the washable pad to his new position. The bed was completely soaked this morning, including the top sheet and blanket, as well as the mattress. I use the carpet shampooer (upholstery attachment) on the mattress, which worked very well, but it took all day for the mattress to dry. The mattress cover on his bed is not waterproof, but I went online this afternoon and ordered a full bed/waterproof mattress cover to be delivered on Thursday. I think the change might have been confusing for him and it may take a little time for him to get acclimated.

I took care of Hillary & Kemper and did chores until Dr. Vesper woke up at 11a. He had breakfast and took his morning meds.  In the afternoon he had a sponge bath and got dressed. He had lunch, did exercise & snoozed /watched College football. After dinner, he watched TV until bedtime. I gave him his p.m. meds and he got ready for bed.  I set the table with morning meds and breakfast for tomorrow.

NOTE: His legs started giving out on him tonight, couldn’t make it all the way, had to sit on the foot of the bed for a bit before continuing to his side. Tomorrow I am going to move him to the other side of the bed and switch out the nightstands and lamps. It seems just a few steps beyond his capabilities anymore, I don’t know why didn’t think of this sooner.

COMMENTS: I took care of Hillary and Kemper when I arrived. I got Dr. Vesper up, he had breakfast and took his AM meds. After breakfast, he had a shave, shower and got dressed.  In the afternoon, he did exercise and had lunch before leaving for his appointment with Dr. Wilson.  Dr. Wilson gave him a thorough exam, his nurse checked all vitals, did an A1C check and gave him a flu shot.  A1C was right where it should be at 6. 0, no change in medication at this time. Dr. Wilson was OK with his glucose numbers, thought they were right where they should be for a male of his age. He said unless his numbers were over 200 consistently, there was no need for concern. When we returned, I cleaned out the refrigerator and took the garbage up while Dr. Vesper took a short nap. After dinner he watched TV while I did the dishes and cleaned the kitchen. I prepared morning meds and breakfast setup for tomorrow. Dr. Vesper took his pm meds and prepared for bed.
