Rose and Roberta were in the bathroom when I arrive,  just finishing up her 4:30 toileting.   Dr. Vesper was in bed asleep. Roberta and I talked for a few minutes, she said Rose had relaxed in the recliner, but didn’t go to sleep.  As we were talking, Rose started nodding off, but she perked up  almost immediately and was alert the rest is f the evening.  It was almost 7 PM before Dr. Vesper woke up, so we opted for a quick soup and sandwich dinner.

NOTE:
I worked 5-9p to fill in for Susan, who is on medical leave.  Susan won’t be back until January, but I should be training a temporary replacement very soon.

COMMENTS:
Rose and Tiffany were in the kitchen when I arrived, Tiffany was busy trying to get Rose to wake up. Tiffany reported that Rose had been completely zonked all day.  As a matter of fact, Tiffany called me earlier in the day because she was  having trouble feeding her because she was falling asleep.  Rarely, but  occasionally, Rose does have days like this, almost like drug-induced sleep. Unfortunately, Tiffany had not experienced one of these days, I advised her to put Rose in the recliner and let her sleep it off, no need trying to keep her up when she is in a comatose state. They had just finished the 4:30p bathroom break  and Rose was still pretty much out of it, but I kept her up and continue to try to get her awake, she did finally wake up in time for dinner at 6p.  Dr. Vesper had been outside mowing when I arrived, he came in 10 minutes later to say the mower was stuck on a log. I drove the truck up to pull the mower out,  but couldn’t get it off the log. We finally dislodged the log with the front loader – Never a dull moment!

NOTE:
I worked 5-9p to fill in for Susan, who is on medical leave

Rose was very quiet, but cooperative during her shower and dressing. She was quiet most of the day, but did repeat “over & back” sever times, and at one point when she got her tongue twisted she said “I just can’t talk today”.

Dr. Vesper went to church & the gym today. After his workout, he had a massage, a new service at the gym.  The massage was only 30 minutes, but he said it was very relaxing.

Randy Landsey – Deer hunter, came to do some chores for Dr. Vesper in exchange for hunting

COMMENTS:
Rose was xtremely quiet again today, but other than that, all was well. I was able to Sneak in some nail work without too much fuss. Dr. Vesper and Stephanie had lunch downtown with his financial advisor, he was home by 3:30

NOTE:
We had a bit of excitement today, Randy came this morning to cut some logs and do a few things for Dr. Vesper. He had a run-in with an illegal deer hunting. He told me about the incident when he came to the door to let me know he was leaving, said he had to pick his son up from school and would be back later to mend a hole in the deer fence. We all thought the incident was minor and over with, however when Randy returned to mend the fence the Deer Hunter was waiting for him and attract him with a chain. His injuries didn’t appear to be serious, I insisted on calling the police to report the incident. When they arrived they were accompanied by the EMTs. While they had him in the ambulance checking him out, he passed out and they had to start an IV and take him to the hospital. He was bleeding from lacerations on his left forearm and the EMT thought his arm might be broken.

COMMENTS:
Rose had a good day, was relaxed and comfortable, until around 4 o’clock when she became noticeably uncomfortable. An early trip to the bathroom produced nothing but a small amount of gas, which appeared to be the relief she needed. Dr. Vesper went to church and then decided to stop by on the dermatology office to get a couple of spots removed, one had to be biopsied.  He also stopped at Subaru to get his broken side mirror replaced, but they had ordered the wrong one, they will call when the new one comes in. He went to the gym after his errands and didn’t get home until almost 5p.
