COMMENTS:
Rose was comfortable and relaxed today, I put a Posey in her left hand, but she turned it loose and didn’t need it the rest of the day. Dr. Vesper’s cough was worse this morning, with some wheezing added to the mix. Since he’s leave for Florida next week, I decided to call Dr. Wilson to see if a breathing treatment might be in order.  Dr. Wilson wanted to see him at 2 PM, Dr. Wilson called me later and said it was a good call getting him in today, because there was definitely wheezing going on and he was glad to be able to treat it early. Dr. Wilson prescribed prednisone, also increased frequency of his Advair and Proair (Albuterol).

NOTE TO CAREGIVERS:
Regarding temporary med changes for Dr. Vesper – Prednisone has been added to his AM med dispenser, he will need med cues for Advair 2Xs daily and Proair (Albuterol) 2 puffs 4Xs daily. Dr. Vesper has a followup appointment with Dr. Wilson Monday 2/15 @ 10:30a, which means he should be ready to leave when caregiver (Sandy) arrives @ 10a. Susan, please leave BIG reminder note on Keurig when you leave Sunday night.

COMMENTS:
Rose had a normal day, shower went smoothly, followed by a nice nap.  She did a “funny” at bedtime, that really took me by surprise.  I was transferring Rose from her wheelchair to the bed, via the lift, just as her head was ready to hit the pillow,   She turned toward me and yelled “boo”,  she really did get me, which made her laugh out loud,  she really did seem to get a kick out of scaring me.  Dr. Vesper didn’t Make it outside the house today, it was cold and snowy  and with his cold, he really didn’t need to be out. I took the garbage up and picked up the mail and newspaper.   After going through the mail and reading the newspaper he went back to bed and took a very long afternoon nap.

COMMENTS:
Rose had a pretty average day up until around 3p, when she became very uncomfortable. We made a trip to the bathroom, but no results. About 15 minutes later everything was normal and all was well. Dr. Vesper had a busy day, I gave him both a verbal & written itinerary, taped the written copy to the dash in his car. He forgot 2 of 4 items on the list. I called the gym and asked the manager to locate Dr. Vesper and tell him he should leave for his 3 PM dental appointment. Dr. Wilson’s office called me to say he was there but didn’t have an appointment and where should he be? Dr. Osterday’s office called at 3:15 to see if he was going to make his appointment. Between the three of us we finally got him to the right place only 30 minutes late. I asked Dr. Osterday’s office to make all future appointments on Tuesday or Thursday. He doesn’t do well when he has more than one place to go, trying to squeeze appointments in between church and gym just doesn’t work anymore.

Dale & Friend – Dr. Vesper called Dale to cut up a tree, which came down in last storm

COMMENTS:
Rose was very quiet today, otherwise seemed comfortable and relaxed. She had a nice nap in the afternoon and was a little more verbal after her nap. Dr. Vesper was outside for awhile working with Dale hauling and stacking wood. I didn’t think he should be outside with his cold/cough, but it was almost 50° and he insisted on being out there having fun.

NOTE:
I completed a drug Inventory for Rose, made a list of all medications and dates new prescriptions are needed.

COMMENTS:
Rose was in a great mood today, she had a good nap in the afternoon, was relaxed and comfortable all day.  Dr. Vesper’s cough seem to be worse today, I am concerned that Rose will catch it too, since he isn’t good about covering his mouth, but so far, so good.   He spent all afternoon watching TV until time to go to church at 4:30.

NOTE:
I did a drug Inventory for Dr. Vesper and made a list of all medications and dates doctors need to call new prescriptions in to new Humana pharmacy, since they are no longer using Express Scripts, will work on same for Rose tomorrow.

COMMENTS:
Rose had a much better day, with her constipation gone, she was a new woman. She was relaxed & happy, even during her shower.  Dr. Vesper’s cold was making him pretty miserable today, he did go to church, but not the gym. He spent the afternoon just lounging in front of the TV.

NOTE:
Kemper has learned no good can come from getting in the van, as soon as I pulled out of the garage, he bolted. I had a terrible time getting him in the vehicle this morning, treats didn’t entice him, had to use my mean voice. Dr. Miller wanted to keep him till late afternoon, to keep an eye on him and make sure he didn’t do any damage to his ear after he removed the sutures and the cone. I received a call to pick him up at 3 PM. They said he had been a good boy and did not require the cone or the doughnut, but if that changes we are to use one or both if necessary.  He was very happy to be home and have the cone and the donut off.

COMMENTS:
Rose had milk of magnesia last night, but no results this morning. I talked to Dr. Wilson’s nurse late afternoon and she said if Rose didn’t have a BM before going to bed to give her another dose of milk of magnesia and call her in the morning. Rose did finally have a very large BM before going to bed, she was so close I knew she needed to go tonight, so we stuck with it until we got success! Dr. Vesper went back to bed after breakfast and slept till mid afternoon. He did seem to feel better after his long nap. He had a planning commission meeting in the village tonight, we had a late dinner because the meeting ran over.
