COMMENTS:
Rose was much better today, her cold had greatly improved since yesterday, no coughing or sneezing, but still a bit of a stuffy nose. Talk to Dr. Wilson to see what I could use to unclog her nose since she can’t blow her nose. He suggested Simply Saline, I picked up a bottle at Berry’s while Elena was here, I tried it at bedtime but Rose was not receptive to the idea, so I’m not sure I got enough in to do the job.

NOTE:
Elena had given me the recipe for Olive Garden’s Zuppa Tuscana soup and I made a big pot of it today, it was delicious, Rose and I had it for dinner tonight and had lots left over for the freezer.

COMMENTS:
Rose had another miserable day with her cold, her nose was runny and stuffy, lots of sneezing, but a little Coughing and no temperature. She didn’t sleep as much today, so hopefully she will sleep well tonight. We did have a slight boo-boo today, she somehow managed to grab onto my right ear and pull my earring completely through the earlobe. It bleed, but not as much as I would have expected, all is well. Rose was in bed by 8:45, but didn’t go to sleep right away. I was next to Rose while having a phone conversation with Jessica, which I think might have been keeping Rose awake, as soon as I got off the phone Rose went to sleep.

COMMENTS:
Rose had a miserable day, with coughing and sneezing. I wasn’t going to give her shower, but thought the hot water might make her feel better. She spent most of the afternoons curled up asleep in her recliner. Rose was in bed by 8:30 PM, but was still awake chattering at 11p.

Monday, February 15, 2016 / 3p-10p

3-5p – I arrived at 3p to relieve Sandy.  Dr. Vesper was sleeping in the bedroom and Rose was sitting in her wheelchair asleep.  I immediately took Rose to the bathroom early so I could get her into the recliner where she would be more comfortable sleeping.  After getting Rose taken care of, I ironed a few items and finished his packing.

5-10p – Susan arrived at 5p and took over duties for Rose, as well as a helping hand for me. It was after 5p when I woke Dr. Vesper up, I gave him a quick haircut and rushed him off to the shower. I asked Susan to remove the sheets and add them to a small load I already had in the washer. Susan made dinner for Rose and she was eating when we left for the airport Hilton. Driving conditions were terrible, it was dark, rainy and very foggy. I went inside and assisted him with checking in and then we located his cousin Terry who was waiting for him in the lobby. I returned in time to relieve Susan at 9p. Susan was in the bathroom getting Rose ready for bed when I arrived. After getting Rose to bed Susan say good night and left for the evening. Susan had not been able to finish the laundry because of a breaker issue, but it seem to be working, so I finished the laundry before calling it a day.

COMMENTS:
Rose  was very quiet most of the day, her cold was  more apparent today and it was obviously making her feel miserable. Other than looking miserable and sneezing half a dozen times, she had no other visible symptoms, including temperature.  Rose started a Z-pak last night, so hopefully it will take care of her cold before it gets full blown.  She was in her recliner shortly after 2 PM meds, and sound asleep a few minutes later.  Dr. Vesper said he didn’t go to sleep until 5:30 AM this morning, he went back to bed right after  breakfast and didn’t get up until almost 5.

Dr. Vesper went to church and then the gym, but forgot to do his Valentine’s Day shopping, will have to do that tomorrow.

COMMENTS:
Rose did well today, she didnt have a BM all day,  but finally came through at bedtime.  Dr. Vesper’s cold has evolved into a wicked cough and even though I have been trying to keep Rose out of the direct line of fire,  she sneezed a couple of times at bedtime, just hope she’s not getting his cold.  Dr. Vesper went back to bed after breakfast and slept until I woke his at 1:30 for a meeting with the planning commission.
