COMMENTS:
Rose was quiet most of the day, but more verbal after dinner.   Rose had a nice nap in the afternoon and then dozed again while we were waiting for Dr. Vesper to get home from church.   He made a couple of stops on the way home, so was later than usual. He lost the note pads he had purchased somewhere between the garage and the house. I decided to go to the garage to see if he had left them in the car, good thing, he had shut the car off while in drive (again) , which meant the lights wouldn’t go off.

Rose had a good day, she spent most the afternoon in her recliner, but was awake most of the time. Dr. Vesper went to church and then the gym, a short nap when he got home. Kemper brought me a gift this afternoon, a dead rat. The odor was awful and since Dr. Vesper wasn’t home, I had to remove it. I had to hose down and spray the front entrance and Kemper.

COMMENTS:
Rose was exceptionally alert today, usually when she has an alert day it doesn’t start until mid afternoon, but today she woke up alert, relaxed and happy and remained that way until bedtime. She initiated conversation several times and once mentioned Lenny. Dr. Vesper had a dental appointment this afternoon, picked up the dry cleaning afterwards and made an emergency run to Graeters.

NOTE:
Susan had called me over the weekend regarding the swelling in Rose’s right foot. She sent me a picture, so I could stop by Dr. Wilson’s office so he could decide if it was necessary for Rose to come into the office. Dr. Wilson said he would need to do I don’t to sound if it was still swollen the following day. There was still some swelling when I arrived on Tuesday morning, but it had gone down considerably. I called Dr. Wilson and he said if the swelling had decreased it would not be necessary to bring her into the office, but to call if the swelling came back.

Rajeana Smalley – Home Instead Caregiver

COMMENTS:
I had several errands this morning,  and since we got such a late start, Rose had breakfast first and then her shower. We also had a new caregiver in training today,  so everything ran a little off schedule.  Dr. Vesper was back on his normal schedule today, he attended church at noon and then spent a couple of hours at the gym. Rajeana was just finishing up in the bathroom with Rose when Roberta arrived at 5p. I spent a few minutes bringing Roberta up to date before leaving.

NOTE:
When I got Rose up this morning, her right foot was swollen, there was a small red mark on heal but the skin wasn’t broken. I had Dr. Vesper look at her foot, but he didn’t think it was anything to be concerned about. CAREGIVERS -Please keep her feet elevated at all times, check for any additional swelling and call me if any negative changes.
