He did make A phone call regarding his upcoming med school class reunion, but that was pretty much his accomplishment for the day.

She wasn’t overly talkative, but she was alert, she ate well, she did have a nap in the afternoon, but it was a “normal” nap. Dr. Vesper went to church, no gym, was home by 1p, back in bed for a nap @ 3. I brought up the subject of “any reason for all the napping and no gym, his reply was – Nothing else to do!

COMMENTS:
Rose was completely out of it today, when she was sitting in her chair her eyes were closed, she had to be continually coaxed to chew her food, it was a slow process, but she did finish her food at each meal. She spent most of the day in her recliner sleeping very soundly. She was somewhat better after dinner, she did respond to me a few times and mumbled a few words, but all with her eyes closed. Dr. Vesper went back to bed after breakfast and slept till noon, but was up the rest of the day. He walked to the lower garage with Auxier to discuss the propane tank, but that was his only venture out of the house, even though it was a gorgeous day. He and I worked on his casual wardrobe for Tucson, which included trying on about 8 pair of slacks in order to find 3 pair that fit.

COMMENTS:
Rose was very quiet and very sleepy today. They only exercise we accomplished was ROM.  She was in a very pleasant mood when you could keep her awake. Rose ate & drank fluids well,  but mostly with her eyes closed. She is still having an issue with swelling in her left foot and ankle, I applied an ice pack several times during the day and  I think it had improved slightly by the afternoon.

NOTE:
I was not scheduled to work today and had planned to take Dr. Vesper to be fitted for his tux and do some shopping for his Tucson trip. Sandy cut her finger on a broken glass while doing dishes on Saturday and the office called me to fill in for her today. Since it was the only day available for the shopping, Susan volunteered to come in early so we could do a late day shopping trip.  We rented the tux in Mt Washington and then went to Jos A Bank in Hyde Park for a little wardrobe updating. I think he enjoyed himself and I know he will be handsomely dressed in Tucson.

COMMENTS:
I had to get Rose up a lot earlier than normal this morning for the family Easter brunch and she seemed to do well all through bathing & dressing. She ate well, but started nodding off during breakfast. Everyone, including Rose, went Outside to see all the spring blooming. Mary Lou sat with Rose while I cleared the table and loaded the dishwasher. Andrew and the girls had started cleanup, but I volunteered to finish so they could get on the road for their long drive to New Orleans. Rose was falling asleep sitting in her chair, so I got her down for a nice long nap, Dr. Vesper also went back to bed for a nap. The Gephardts hit the road and Mary Lou & I set down and enjoy a nice quiete chai latte moment before she left for home. While everyone was napping I did a few side dishes to go with the honey baked ham later for dinner tonight. I had to wake Rose at 4:15 to go to the bathroom. Susan relieved me at 5p and while she and I were talking Rose was busy falling back to sleep, again.

COMMENTS:
Rose was happy and relaxed today.  I didn’t shampoo her hair today since it was just colored yesterday, she didn’t seem to mind the shower as much, maybe because it went faster.  Dr. Vesper didn’t have church today, but he did venture out to Hallmark to get his Easter cards, couldn’t talk him into going to the gym. He did say he had stopped at Subaru yesterday and made an appointment for an oil change, but couldn’t remember when it was, I called to ask, only to fnd out it was this morning @ 10:30, I rescheduled for Monday 3/28 @ 1:30.  I will pick him up after church on Monday (3/28)  @ 1 PM and we can drop his car off at Subaru before I take him for a tux fitting and a shopping spree for Tucson. Roberta arrived @ 5p,  I stayed a few minutes to finish up a few things, I was running behind after cleaning up from the plumbing disaster.

VISITORS/WORKERS:

COMMENTS:
Rose had a much better day than yesterday (no leaning) which made Polly’s job a lot easier. Polly had prior obligations and was just trying to work Rose in today, so it was almost 3:30 before she arrived, which wasn’t a problem, but did make the rest of the evening run late. Her hair turned out beautiful, a little lighter for the summer. She did very well during the entire process, and we all had our usual fun day with crazy Polly. Dr. Vesper decided to join our party, but when the conversation went all female, he decided to take a nap.
