COMMENTS:
Rose had a difficult day today. Before getting her out of bed, I noticed her face was flush and she felt warm to the touch, but didn’t have a temperature. She spent most of the day in the recliner with her eyes closed, she wasn’t sleeping, other than a brief nap. She ate enough, but didn’t complete any meals. She ate very slowly and held food in her mouth without chewing until coaxed to do so. Dr. Vesper went to church and then spent a couple of hours at the gym. Jeannie picked up tax returns from Amy Ferrell today and came by to get checks & signatures so she could get his returns in the mail.

COMMENTS:
Rose was much better today, she wasn’t verbal, but more engaging and acknowledged others when they talked. When asked yes/no questions she responded well, especially to Dr. Vesper. I think he was pretty exhausted from his trip, after breakfast he went back to bed and slept until noon. In the afternoon he did take a walk around the yard to check his blooming trees for frost/freeze damage, and then he tackled the mountain of mail from last week. I unpacked his luggage and put everything away, most went into the laundry for tomorrow.

Monday, April 11, 2016 (Sunday overnight – Monday 10a)

It was almost 11 PM before Rose was finally tucked in last night, but she slept very restfully.  She had her meds and eyedrops at 6 AM without waking.  Rose was still sleeping when Mary dropped Dr. Vesper off at 9:45a.  Sandy arrived @ 10a to relieve me. I  gave him a quick rundown on the events of the past week, got his tux/shoes ready to be returned and unpacked only the items he needed for today/tonight before leaving.  He was sneaking off to the bedroom to snuggle a few minutes with Rose before leaving for church.

Sunday, April 10, 2016

Rose slept ok last night, but with a lot of movement. She had her meds and eyedrops at 6 AM, and then she slept till 9:30. Rose slept on her right side with her fist under her face, making a large red mark, still visible at the end of the day.

COMMENTS:
Rose had a good 3 hour nap after her shower in the afternoon. I was hoping that would make her more alert for Kurts visit, but dinner ran really late, and she was starting to wilt near the end. Dr. Vesper and Mary are on their way home from Tucson, we talk to him daily, but I know he is eager to get home. They are staying at the airport Hilton tonight and we will see them first thing in the morning.

COMMENTS:
Rose was very quiet today. She ate well, but very slowly, had to be coaxed into chewing several times. She was definitely ready for a nap in the afternoon. Dinner was a slow go, finished her food, but it took a patient caregiver to go the distance:) She was in bed shortly after pm meds and potty time.
