Polly – Cut & color
Stephanie – Delivered pool cover pump

COMMENTS:
I arrived @ 9a this morning because Dr. Vesper had a 9:30 appointment with Dr. Forman.  As soon as I got him out the door, I got Rose up, gave her breakfast, and then a quick shower & shampoo and we were ready for Polly.  While we waited for Polly, I got most of the regular chores finished.  Rose always get sleepy after her shower and by the time Polly arrived, she was ready for her nap.  Rose was leaning forward considerably, which made for a difficult job for Polly, but with a little help from me, she managed to make Rose beautiful, as always. When Polly was finished I changed Rose into dry clothes and transferred her to her recliner for a nice long nap.  While, Rose slept, I did a load of laundry, wet clothes and towels from our “Polly” day.  Stephanie met Dr. Vesper @ Dr. Foreman’s office this morning,  she said he had an EKG and was sent to the lab to have blood drawn. When he got home he helped me water the newly planted flowers and later I helped him spread some mulch in the front around the new flowers.  Stephanie stopped by in the afternoon to drop off a new pump for the pool cover. We had a very busy day, and since I couldn’t talk Rose into making dinner, I made a quick run to Frisch’s. Rose had been very quiet and sleepy most of the day, but between dinner and bedtime she became alert, focused and somewhat communicative.

NOTE:
I picked up compression stockings for Rose at Kunkel Pharmacy this morning, but didn’t use them today because I was afraid they would get wet and didn’t want to chance getting haircolor on them. They should be used every day, put them on in the morning before she gets out of bed and take them off after she’s in bed at night.

COMMENTS:
Rose was very sleepy this morning, she ate about 3/4 of her breakfast and then fell asleep. Dr. Vesper wanted her to come back to bed to sleep a little longer with him.  While she was sleeping I did a few chores inside and outside. She was much more awake when I got her up the second time, around 1p. Rose had lunch and ate well, took her 2pm meds and did her exercises.  Rose started to get sleepy again around 3:30, I took her to the bathroom early, and then  I transferred her from her wheelchair to the recliner and she was snoring within 10 minutes.   Dr. Vesper agreed to sit with Rose while I helped Sandy with mulching the flowers that I had just planted. Susan arrived @ 5p, she and I agreed to let Rose sleep as long as possible while she started dinner and I finished up with Sandy. Before leaving, I transferred Rose from the recliner to the wheelchair, with Susan’s assistance.

COMMENTS:
Rose was awake & alert @ 10:30a, we did breakfast, chores, a short nap and lunch before a late shower in the afternoon .  I was just finishing her hair when Roberta arrived @ 5p. Dr. Vesper went to church and the gym today. Reading and TV before heading off to the bedroom for a nap at 4:30. Roberta started dinner when she arrived at 5,  thought he might hold up dinner, but he got up just in time at 5:30p.

NOTE:
I forgot to mention in the blog yesterday (Thursday) – While I was gone with Rose getting her ultrasound, Dr. Vesper managed to get the mower stuck on top of a stump (again) down by the woods, then proceeded to take the truck to pull the mower off the stump and got the trucks stuck, rainy week. His plan was to take the tractor down to pull the truck and mower up the hill. While he was gone to church, I had Jack Connors tow everything out. Any suggestions, I’m thinking of hiring Buster to steal the mower.

VISITORS/WORKERS:
Elena – Clean

COMMENTS:
Rose had a very early day, but was rewarded with a nice long nap in the afternoon. Rose was up & 8 and we were out the door by 8:30 AM. Surprisingly, she was awake and alert, considering the hour. She did well during the ultrasound, we did need help from a couple of strong guys to get her from the chair to the table, but other than that all went well. Later in the afternoon Joe Barone from Dr. corals office called to say he saw nothing in the ultrasound that would cause the ankle swelling issue, no blockage and certainly no blood clots. He would like us to use compression stockings and keep her feet elevated and if no improvement will investigate further.

Elena came in early to get the cleaning done while Rose & I were gone. After getting Rose taken care of with a trip to the bathroom, a very late breakfast and into the recliner for a well deserved nap, Elena and I did some flower planting. With only breaking to check on Rose, we got a lot accomplished, not quite finished, but did make a serious dent. Next week I will work on getting the patio and order and Sandy will be able to start putting down fresh mulch. How did we get so much accomplished? Mary Del took her brother to the Zoo – Thanks Mary!

COMMENTS:
Rose was  awake and alert most of the day, she ate well and participated in her exercises.  Rose got very sleepy after dinner and I wanted to put her to bed a little early, since we have to be at Christ Hospital (Beechmont) at 9 AM tomorrow for her ultrasound, but Dr. Vesper insisted on putting Rose in her recliner because he thought it was too early for her to go to bed. I transferred her to the recliner, where she slept very soundly from 8-9p. I got her up, she had her PM meds and then I got her ready for bed.  Dr. Vesper did much better in the nap department today. He did go back to bed after breakfast and slept until 11:15, when I got him up to get ready for church. He came home after working out at the gym, spent the afternoon reading and watching TV, but no nap.
