COMMENTS:
I found and purchased a compression stocking donner for Rose at Kunkels pharmacy yesterday, it works amazingly well.  The bed was completely soaked, everything had to be washed, including my clothes. She started to urinate while she was still in the lift, her depends were so saturated they couldn’t hold anymore, it just poured out.  She got me from mid thigh to foot, thank gosh for washable crocs.  Rose was extra hungry this morning, she was opening her mouth for another bite before I could get it ready. She didn’t do quite as well with lunch, finished everything, but not with the gusto of breakfast.  The Gephardt’s & (cousin) Tommy arrived around 3p to celebrate Father’s Day and cool off in the pool.  Rose alternated between nodding off and dancing. Every time I started to put her in her recliner for a nap she would perk up and a few minutes later she would be nodding off,  finally the nodding off won, and I transferred her to the recliner for a nice nap. Susan assisted with the transfer back to her wheelchair when she arrived @ 5p. Dr. Vesper went back to bed after breakfast and slept until almost noon. He dressed in his Sunday best,  because it was Father’s Day and he rightfully thought he might have visitors today. I did  father’s Day shopping (tee shirt & note pad) for Rose yesterday, Stephanie gave him some nice shirts and a few treats from their California vacation, he also received lots of nice cards – I think he enjoyed his day!

NOTE:
Filled in for Sunday caregiver

COMMENTS:
Rose  had a good day, she did very well through her shower and dressing.  Getting her compression stockings on after a shower is a real bear, I plan on shopping around tomorrow for a stocking Donner. She had a good nap after lunch. Dr. Vesper went to church and the gym. When he arrived home he placed the mail on the counter and rushed down the hallway, I thought he was in a rush to go to the bathroom, but  became concerned when he didn’t return.  When I checked on him he, was in bed, sound asleep. He only slept about an hour,  I ask him if he was feeling OK and he said he just worked too hard at the gym, and was exhausted, but felt fine after his nap. Roberta relieved me at 5P.

He was home all day, he tried to do the mowing for Sandy, but it was very hot and he gave up real soon.  I spent a lot of time on the phone with Humana, still didn’t get the problem resolved, but the last person I talked to said he would resolve the problem (Tier Exception) and get back to me in 10–14 days.

COMMENTS:
Rose was not quite as awake and alert today as she was yesterday, she was leaning to the left most of the day, but she ate very well. Rose spent a lot of time in her recliner because of her leaning. Dr. vesper went to church & the gym, got home around 3p and watched TV until Jeannie arrived a little after 5p. Due to expected bad weather, I started a roast around 4p, just in case the electricity went out, we did have some weird weather, but nothing too severe. As you can tell from the list above, it was a busy day at the Vesperosa today. I didn’t get back to Humana today, but plan on doing it tomorrow.

NOTE:
The garage door cable broke yesterday when Dr. Vesper came home from the gym, but I didn’t know until I was ready to leave and noticed it was still up. I left a message on the recorder last night and overhead door returned my call first thing this morning and was able to get out early afternoon to make the repairs. Dr. Vesper wasn’t real happy with me, he thought the two of us could hold the door up and get it back on track. He thought I didn’t trust his abilities, I assured him it was my garage door repair talent which was lacking.

COMMENTS:
Rose had a great day, she was very alert and awake all day. She ate very well, better than she has in weeks. She was very relaxed, even her hands, no rigidity during dressing or undressing.  Dr. Vesper went back to bed after breakfast, once up, he spent the day inside, too hot to go out.  Sandy decided to give her back another day of rest, hoping to be here tomorrow.  I spent over one hour on the phone with Humana, trying to resolve problem with Ranexa, but ended up getting disconnected before getting resolved, will have to start over  tomorrow????

VISITORS/WORKERS:
Jimmy Smith – Bush hogged

COMMENTS:
Rose was in a cheerful mood today, I think it was because I gave her her normal Sunday French toast on a Monday. I didn’t want to give Sandy anything too difficult, just in case I ever need her again, so Rose had to suffer through oatmeal on a Sunday morning???? Rose ate well and was more alert today.  Dr. Vesper went to church and the gym today. Before leaving for IHM, he announced that he couldn’t find his wallet.  We both spent some time trying to find the missing wallet, but without success.   He finally gave up and left for church without the wallet. Just as Roberta was arriving at 5P, Dr. Vesper reminded me he still hadn’t found his wallet.  For future reference, I was showing Roberta some of the past places we have found losted wallet, cell phone and keys, when  we found the wallet in the underwear/sock drawer.  I called him into the bedroom to show him where we found the wallet, he swore he didn’t put it there and said to me “you must have put it there”, I think he was kidding, but not completely positive, he slapped the wallet down on the chest pretty hard.  I’m guessing if he was upset, it was with himself.

NOTE:
Jimmy Smith was back this morning to finish the bush hogging, said he wasn’t able to come Saturday because of family obligations, but was here yesterday and ran out of Diesel fuel around 6:30 and called it a day, came back this morning to finish up. Unfortunately, with a very small strip left to do, the steering went out on the tractor.  The bolt holding the steering arm on fell out, Jimmy was able to find the bolt, but it wouldn’t stay on because it was stripped. He took the steering arm off and dropped it off at Cahalls to be repaired.  Per Stephanie’s instructions, I tried to pay Jimmy, but he flatly refuse any money, said he was more than happy to do it for Stephanie to keep her dad from getting injured,  which he most likely would have, had he been driving when the steering went out.  I felt really bad when I found out today was his 18th wedding anniversary and he had promised his wife he wouldn’t be long, he wanted to spend time with her before he had to go back out of town, super nice guy!

Sandy Hayslip sent me a text this morning to let me know she wouldn’t be in today because she threw her back out yesterday. No, it wasn’t from lifting Rose,  she said it was from sneezing,  Who knew a sneeze could be so dangerous?!?!?!

Sandy – Yard work & trained to take care of Rose on Sunday while I’m out of town

COMMENTS:
Home Instead wasn’t able to provide a caregiver for this Sunday, and since I was going out of town,  Sandy Hayslip was able to fill in on Sunday until Susan Lomboy (HISC) arrives @ 3p. I spent a few hours this morning training Sandy,  she did very well and I’m sure Rose will be in good hands.  Dr. Vesper went to church and the gym today, no nap when he came home. I spoke to Jimmy Smith (Stephanie’s friend) regarding bush hogging the field this weekend. He plans to do half on Saturday morning and finish up on Sunday morning because of the expected heat wave this weekend.  I gave him the gate code so he could come in early, he plans to text Stephanie if he has any problems.
