COMMENTS:
Rose was quiet and sleepy today, was better after her nap.  She ate well today and enjoyed her filet. I was able to give Rose a  good mani-pedi  while she napped this afternoon. Dr. Vesper left to pick up the mail, came back much later with a load of gravel, which he wants to put along the driveway near the dip. He left for church @ 4:30p

NOTE:
I ran into Tom Niehaus at Kroger’s this morning, He told me Dr. Vesper had gotten lost coming to his house this past Thursday. I called Tom Thursday afternoon to see if it was a good time to visit Emily, he said that it was, and I told him Dr. Vesper would be leaving in 2 minutes. Tom told me this morning that Dr. Vesper didn’t arrive at their house until 45 minutes later. They assumed he had changed his mind or something had came up, was just getting ready to call when he arrived. He told Tom he had driven up Several roads and just couldn’t find his house. He told Tom he knew he had built a new house, just couldn’t remember what road it was on. Tom asked me if I thought he should be driving, where have I heard that question before?

COMMENTS:
Rose had a good day, showering and dressing went very well, she ate well and was alert, but not engaging. Dr. Vesper went to church, but not the gym, said he wanted to get back home and help Sandy with some of his projects.  He didn’t stay outside long because it was very humid, but he did go back out later after dinner when it was cooler.  He spent a couple of hours on the tractor, working up by the woodpile, not sure what he was trying to accomplish.

COMMENTS:
Rose was better today, she was awake for all (3) meals, she was much more awake and alert, with only a short afternoon nap. Ray come by after dialysis this morning, he and Dr. Vesper had coffee and visited for about an hour. In the afternoon he decided to do some mowing, which didn’t last long, humidity was off the chart. He decided to change clothes and deliver flowers and a card to Emily Niehaus, who had surgery on Monday.   Just before bedtime we had an uninvited visitor, a raccoon came to the door (next to the refrigerator), stood on his back paws and put his front paws on the door and was staring in at us.  I turned the porch light on, thinking it was a deer in the back yard, but looked down and saw him at my feet, he made no effort to leave until Kemper came charging at the door – Brave little sucker!

NOTE:
I noted an incident in the blog yesterday, which happened while getting Rose ready for bed. The evidence was visible this morning, she had a small scratch just below her left nostril, which I am sure was the results of our hand-to-face encounter last night.  It didn’t break the skin, but it was definitely a scratch.

COMMENTS:
Rose was about the same as yesterday, she ate breakfast and lunch well, not so much dinner. She was leaning forward but didn’t get extreme until bedtime.  She had a nice long afternoon nap, which continued through dinner.  She was leaning forward to the point of putting her head on her knees while she was sitting on the commode. As a result of her position, we had a little boo-boo.   While trying to get her PJs up, my hand slipped and made contact with her face.  I checked her out after she was in bed and didn’t find any marks on her face, but I’m sure it hurt.  Dr. Vesper went back to bed after breakfast and slept until time to get ready for church. After church he made his normal stop at Home Depot and then worked out at the gym.  It was very hot today, he stayed inside the rest of the afternoon.

COMMENTS:
Rose had a good morning and afternoon, she ate a good breakfast and lunch, but everything went south after that. She started getting very sleepy around 1:30, I transferred her to her recliner after her 2 PM meds. She was sleeping so soundly I didn’t get her up for her bathroom break until 5:30. She was still very sleepy and leaning forward, which only worsened as the evening went on, by bedtime her head was on her knees, making potty and PJ time near impossible. Dr. Vesper spent the afternoon with Mary Del, they took in a movie,  the art museum and visited Alan & Veva. He was so late getting home I incorrectly assumed they were having dinner. I had already started a soup & sandwich dinner for Rose when he arrived, he said he would have the same. Rose was having some of the potato leek soup we made for Debbie, but since he doesn’t potato soup, I opened a can of tomato for him. Stephanie arrived around 7:30 with the girls and Tommy for a cooldown swim.

NOTE:
We have had really rotten luck with flowers this year. Almost everything we got from Jarman’s died, what few survived were eaten by the blank blank deer last night, my favorite Christmas Carol is no longer Rudolph!
