COMMENTS:
Rose was  very alert today, maybe it was the cold shower???? We went off bathing schedule today because we were celebrating Stephanie’s birthday.  Dinner was scheduled for 730, but it was more like 830 because of everyone’s work schedule.  Rose had a late and long nap because of the late dinner hour, but she was starting to wilt to 10p.  Dr. Vesper had a dental appointment after church today, didn’t go to the gym.  Stephanie enjoyed her birthday party, we had a delicious dinner, entrée prepared for Mary Lou,  birthday cake prepared by Sophie, lots of nice cards and gifts after cake and ice cream.

COMMENTS:
Rose had a good day, no leaning, but was exceptionally quiet. She had a nice nap in her new chair, which is working out great, except for a few issues, which I am working to correct. Unless she is tilted back, she is sliding down on the seat.  The chair doesn’t have a seatbelt, but I have ordered an extra long gait belt, which will go around both Rose and the chair and fasten in the back, which I’m hoping will work like a seatbelt.  The other issue is the steering, which we discovered is due to a bent front left caster.  The manufacturer (Invacare) is trying to locate a replacement at one of their distributors.  Dr. Vesper was home all day, didn’t do much, other than sleep in, read, watch TV and nap.

COMMENTS:
Rose was very relaxed today, she did show signs of discomfort mid-afternoon, but fell asleep soon afterwards and was fine when she woke later. Dr. Vesper played around with the riding mower, trying to clear underbrush into the edge of woods near the woodpile, before getting ready for church. I prepared dinner while he was gone and had everything ready when he arrived home. After dinner we watched the NR Riverdays fireworks, which was a 20 minute spectacular show.

COMMENTS:
Rose was very alert today, she took a very comfortable nap in her new chair, but did start to lean slightly left after dinner.  Dr. Vesper went back to bed after breakfast and slept until almost 1p.  After going through the mail and reading the newspaper, he decided to do some work outside. He started with using the tractor to clear some small debris up by the woodpile, but then ventured below to Bush hog the field, thank goodness he ran out of gas before he got into too much trouble. I filed a claim with UPS for damages to the chair, they will pay for repairs. The foot rest is not working, not sure if it was shipped that way or damaged in transit, it was poorly packaged and the box was heavily damaged, either way, UPS is responsible since they accepted the package.

COMMENTS:
I went in a little early today so Dr. Vesper and Jessica could attend an open house @ Home Instead. I handed Tyler over to his sitter when she arrived @ 10a and then got Rose up.  She’s  not normally up that early, but she was awake and very alert.  In between loads of laundry, I spent a lot of time cleaning and sanitizing Rose’s new chair and trying to figure out the mechanisms.  I was stuck on the tilt mechanism, Jessica figured that one out, we still need to figure out the foot rest. Dr. Vesper went to church after the Home Instead open house, but skipped the gym. No naps today.

COMMENTS:
Rose had breakfast and lunch before showering today. The chair I ordered finally arrived today and I wanted to get it put together so we could check for damage, because the box was in pretty bad shape when it arrived.  The assembly took a lot longer than I anticipated, but Rose waited patiently.  Dr. Vesper and I started the assembly, but enlisted Jessica’s help at the end, because we needed more muscle.  This particular chair is no longer being made by the manufacture, so I ordered it on the secondary market, it was in good shape but very dirty, I wanted to sanitize the chair before using it, but Rose started showing signs of discomfort, so I will give the chair a good cleaning tomorrow. I gave Rose a very late shower and put her in her PJs, put clean sheets on the bed, and gave Dr. Vesper a hair cut.  We were too tired to make dinner, so we all voted on Frisch’s
