Stephanie met us at Dr. Wilson’s office

COMMENTS:
Rose slept most of the day.  When I got her up this morning she fell asleep on the commode, then she slept through breakfast with head in lap, she actually fell asleep in the shower. She fell asleep in Dr. Wilson’s office during her annual physical.  She slept on the way home and the car, through dinner and right up until bedtime. It wasn’t a sound sleep, not even sure she was asleep, but her eyes  were closed and she was leaning forward, almost to her lap, had to put pillows under her face.  She ate all of her food, but with her eyes closed and with continuous coaxing.  She was in her regular transport chair most of the day because of her doctors appointment, which reminded me of how difficult her leaning days were before the reclining chair.  Dr. Vesper went back to bed after breakfast and slept until it was time for him to get ready for his doctor’s appointment.  They both had good check ups, Dr. Vesper’s blood pressure was a little low 106/60, no change in medications for either of them, next appointment 2/21/17. Rose received a flu shot, Dr. Vesper got his at Krogers 2 weeks ago.

COMMENTS:
Rose had an average day, a long afternoon nap, ate very well,  but slowly with lots of coaxing.  Dr. Vesper went back to bed after breakfast, but made it up in time for church and the gym.  He was a little later than usual getting home, which he later explained,  he went to the cemetery to visit Ray’s grave.  While Rose napped in the afternoon, I did a med inventory and called for refills for Rose, will check Dr. Vesper’s meds later this week.

COMMENTS:
Rose was quiet, but alert today. She didn’t take a nap, but was starting to get sleepy shortly after dinner.  She ate much better today, without the coaxing it took yesterday.  Dr. Vesper went back to bed after breakfast and didn’t get up until almost 2 PM. He watched the game and later went to  Speedway for gas for the mower.   Evidently, he ran out yesterday, guess that’s why he only mowed for (1) hour.

Stephanie – Picked up Dr. Vesper for Ray’s funeral

COMMENTS:
Rose was alert and relaxed today,  she ate well, quantity wise, but had to be continuously coaxed to prevent chipmunking. She took a short nap in the afternoon, but mostly dozed off and on.  When I tried to get Dr. Vesper up to go to Ray’s funeral, he informed me he didn’t plan on going. I was surprised and tried to encourage him to change his mind, but he was firm in his decision.  Fortunately, Stephanie called and was able to convince him he should attend the funeral and she volunteered to pick him up.   After the funeral he spent about an hour outside mowing, I think he just needed some alone time.  Before he left for church at 4:30 I lined up leftover decisions for dinner. Susan relieved me @ 5p.

COMMENTS:
Rose have a good day, she was fairly relaxed doing her shower and dressing. She had a long nap after lunch and 2 PM meds, had to wake her for trip to bathroom at 4:30.  She was starting to lean slight left by bedtime. Dr. Vesper  reported that he got up an hour earlier than usual today because he felt like he had been sleeping too much. Not sure how that made sense, since he went back to bed after breakfast and slept until time for church. As always, he went to the gym after church.  I put the chicken in the oven at 4p so they could have an early dinner before the visitation for Ray tonight.  Kemper had a follow up appointment with the Vet this afternoon, he got another shot for his allergies and also another 10 days of antibiotics.

COMMENTS:
Rose had a relaxed day, she mumbled a lot, like talking in her sleep, I couldn’t understand any of her words, but when I  ask her to repeat, she spoke clearly. Dr. Vesper went back to bed after breakfast, but got up when I gave him a wake up call for church. He spent a little extra time at the gym, but was home at 3:30.

NOTE:
Ray Hayslip passed away this morning, he had a fatal heart attack while driving himself to dialysis. Ray was a long time friend to the Vesper family, he will be greatly missed.
