Kemper for a weight check, down 4lbs, good job Kemp!  Stephanie thought Hillary might have plans but she was so phony. Her check up revealed dental issues that need to be addressed right away, she is scheduled for dental surgery on Thursday 12/22.  Since she will be anesthetized for the dental surgery, they postponed blood work until then.

COMMENTS:
Rose was alert and awake most of the afternoon, but fell asleep at the end of the football game. Dr. Vesper had been up, ate breakfast and was back in bed when I arrived.  I had a hard time getting him up in time for church, had to threaten him, and  finally got him out the door almost 10 minutes late. I gave him a long list of cards for the December birthdays just to give you something to do after church.  I think he read every card at Hallmark, didn’t get home until almost 2p. The Bengal game was at half time, but he watched the recorded version from the beginning.

NOTE:
I picked up a prescription for Rose last night, which Dr. Schott had called in. I applied it to her eyelids last night and her eyes looked much better this morning. I applied the medication again this morning and applied hot compresses several times during the day. The crusty eyelids were much better, the redness was better, but the swelling under her eyes was still there, maybe a little worse. CAREGIVERS: Please use gloves when applying medication horizontally to closed eyelids, use clean washcloth to apply warm compresses before apply medication, wait 10 minutes after applying her regular morning eyedrops before applying new medication. Susan will leave note on the counter with medication instructing caregiver use before she leaves tonight.

She  Took a nap after her shower.  Dr. Vesper did his usual, back to bed after breakfast, up @ 11:15 and off to church & the gym. He spent the rest of the day reading and watching TV.  At bedtime I noticed Rose’s right eye looked A little red and watery, hopefully just allergies, but will keep an eye on it.

COMMENTS:
Rose was relaxed and in a cheerful mood today, she had a short afternoon nap.  Rose ate well today, especially dinner, she completed a rather large portion of Seabass and still had room for ice cream.  Dr. Vesper was up for breakfast and back in bed before Elena arrived.  Elena  helped me carry in and put away the groceries so I could attend to Rose sooner, later I helped her get clean sheets back on Jennifer, Chase and Jake’s bed.  Elena is very easy to work with, she’s  flexible and always willing to lend a helping hand.  Dr. Vesper slept in, but  was up at 12:30, he drove up to pick up the mail, but had to make a second trip because they mail carrier was running late today.  While he waited, he decided to clean out the brick flower planter box at front entrance.  He accomplished his goal, but left a mess because he got cold and had to come inside, I took pity on him and finished his job.

COMMENTS:
Rose was quiet today, but somewhat responsive. She ate very well and had an afternoon nap. Dr. Vesper was up for breakfast and then back to bed, back up at 11a. He went to church and the gym. He was unable to check his blood sugar last night and this morning because the monitor had a dead battery. He stopped at Batteries Plus after church today and got new batteries. He spent the rest of the day reading and watching TV.

NOTE:
I had a phone call from the office today asking me to fill in this weekend for Mona, our newest caregiver. Mona fell off a ladder and ended up at the emergency room with a couple of broken bones and a head laceration. She will most likely not be able to work for the next 3–4 weeks. Our best to Mona for a speedy recovery.
