COMMENTS:
Anticipating a late night, I let Rose sleep in this morning. She had a late breakfast & lunch, then relaxed while I finished getting things ready for Christmas. We headed to the shower just before 5P, and was dressed and ready just as the first guest arrived. Rose fell asleep and slept very soundly he, but woke up just in time for dinner. Dr. Vesper also slept in, but was up around 3P. We had a delicious dinner with friends and family and Santa arrived shortly after dinner with lots of gifts.

COMMENTS:
Roses had a quiet day, she ate well and had a long nap after lunch and 2pm meds. Rose became very uncomfortable  near the end of dinner, I took her to the bathroom, she didn’t do anything,  but seemed fine after sitting on the commode for a few minutes.  I checked on Dr. Vesper when I got Rose up and asked him if he was sure he felt like going to church, he said he would think about it, he ended up going back to sleep and didn’t get up until almost 3p.  He really needed the extra rest and I complimented him on a wise decision, although I’m sure it was more accidental than a conscious decision. He was feeling much better today, but still had cough.

NOTE:
Temporary gate fix while call box is being repaired, must use code, call button won’t ring house. Family should use regular code, all other guest/workers will be given temporary code #1268

COMMENTS:
Rose had a good morning and early afternoon, she ate all of her breakfast and lunch. I made an appointment yesterday for Dr. Vesper to see Dr. Wilson today. I planned to take him because Dr. Wilson moved since our last visit and I was afraid he would get lost (which he did), but he didn’t want me to take Rose out and insisted he would be ok.  Dr. Wilson called me to let me know he had sent him to the ER to get a chest xray and breathing treatments. When Jessica & Danny got home, Danny drove me to Mercy to be with him, while Jessica stayed with Rose.  They did blood work, chest x-ray, Levofloxacin (antibiotic) IV drip and (3) breathing treatments. The hospitalist wanted to admit him for overnight breathing treatments, but he insisted on going home. We came home with Abuterolal – 4 puffs, every 4 hours, Prednsone 4 tabs daily for 4 days, Levofloxacin 1 tab daily for 10 days.  Diagnoses were acute bronchitis and asthma with acute exacerbation. After a 30 minute wait  at the pharmacy, we picked up dinner at Frisch’s for everyone.  Jessica had warmed up some leftovers for Rose, which she was eating when we arrived.  It was a late night, but everyone was tucked in by 11 and Dr. Vesper was feeling and breathing much better.

COMMENTS:
Rose had a good day, she was very quiet, but seemed content. She had a nice long nap after her shower. Dr. Vesper wasnt feeling much better today, about the same, except maybe his cough had improved slightly.  He has developed a wheezing noise,  which doesn’t sound good. I made an appointment for him to see Dr. Wilson tomorrow afternoon.  Since I wasn’t sure what time Jessica and family would be arriving today, I put a roast in the crockpot for a hearty meal upon their arrival.  Rose had a long afternoon nap which prepared her for a late evening.  Not much change in Tyler, since we just saw him at Thanksgiving. He has perfected the “crawl” and the “kiss”, grandma got a kiss on the cheek.

COMMENTS:
Rose was more rigid than usual during her shower today.  She went into a very sound sleep after lunch and 2p meds and was still sleeping when Crystal arrived.  Dr. Vesper went back to bed after breakfast, I got him up just in time to leave for church and the gym, he spent the afternoon reading and watching TV.  I requested the office send Crystal in one hour early today so I could give her a little more training in dinner preparation and a refresher course in PM meds and bedtime routine.  We had dinner well underway and Crystal seemed more confident about completing her shift when I left.  I talked to her at the end of her shift and she said all went well.
