COMMENTS:
Rose had a much better day, no leaning.  Leaning is not always noticeable when she’s in her recliner,  but there were no signs of leaning while getting her on and off the commode.  Rose ate very well today and took a normal nap in the afternoon. Dr. Vesper went back to bed after breakfast.  Although I disturbed him when I got Rose up, he went back to sleep and didn’t get up until 4p.  I can’t say that he slept the entire time, only that he was in his bedroom with no TV noise.

Martha Mcamele (Home Instead Caregiver) – New caregiver training

COMMENTS:
Rose had an average day, except she was more sleepy  than normal. I got her up, dressed and ready for breakfast, but before I could get her omelette ready, she was snoring loudly.   The rest of the day was pretty average, she did take a nap in the afternoon, but was more awake and alert after second nap.  Dr. Vespers slept in until I had to wake him so Elena could clean the bedroom, he was up earlier for breakfast.  Martha (new caregiver) came for training 5–9, Martha will be replacing Sandy Underwood on Saturday & Monday from 10a-9p biweekly.  Martha will be back for additional training next Wednesday, before  her first solo on Saturday 2/25.  I had planned cottage ham with green beans and potatoes for dinner, but when we started running behind schedule, due to additional time needed for training, Dr. Vesper was nice enough to settle for a soup and sandwich night.

Dr. Vesper  went back to bed after breakfast, he got up the second time around 2 PM, spent the afternoon going through his mail and reading the WSJ.  They enjoyed a special Valentine’s Day, courtesy of Cupid.  The bedtime ran a little late because of their celebration, might need to sleep in tomorrow.

COMMENTS:
Rose had an early breakfast, exercise and then a nice hot shower. She had a nice nap after lunch and 2p meds. Dr. Vesper went back to bed after breakfast, I got him up at 11:15, his cold was about the same, he decided to go to church, but not the gym. While he dressed, I pulled his car out of the garage to warm up.   When he took longer to dress than normal, I checked on him and he was back in bed, no church today. I picked up  OTC meds on my way in this morning, also called Pat at Dr. Wilson’s office, she said it was OK to give him what I had bought and he didn’t need anything more unless the cold got worse or he developed new symptoms, such as wheezing. Dr. Wilson is out of town till Tuesday, but Dr. Osborne will be on call over the weekend.

NOTE:
We had an issue with homeowners and auto insurance, we received a cancellation notice this past Monday, I called Linda at Paul Hall’s office and was told they didn’t receive the check that was mailed in January. Linda was able to put a five day extension on the cancellation, which will give the check an extra five days to arrive. If it hasn’t arrived by Monday, she will run the payment on the 5/3 MC. Nationwide will issue a refund if checks are received after payment is made on MC. Jeannie is aware of the issue and will monitor his 5/3rd checking account online over the weekend and issue a stop payment if necessary.

COMMENTS:
Rose had a dental appointment today, but I didn’t want to take her out because it t was so cold (25°), I was able to reschedule for Thursday 2/23. She had a average day, lady of leisure. She ate well, but didn’t take a nap today. Dr. Vesper went back to bed after breakfast and slept until I got him up around 1:30, he is starting to come down with a cold and really needed the extra rest today. He always seems to come down with something on the weekend, we’ll see how he’s doing tomorrow and call Dr. Wilson if necessary.

COMMENTS:
Rose was very relaxed today, which certainly made dressing a much easier job.  She ate well and took a good nap in the afternoon. Dr. Vesper ate breakfast and went back to bed, got up at 11a for church and the gym. He made a stop in the village to visit the chief, was home by 3.  He spent the rest of the afternoon reading and watching TV. Dinner, cleanup and evening routine all ran smoothly.
