COMMENTS:
Rose had breakfast and then relaxed before doing a good round of exercise.  Today was her normal shower day, but we moved it to tomorrow because of the party on Sunday. She had a nice long nap in the afternoon. Dr. Vesper was in bed when I arrived, he had been up and ate breakfast. I got him up in time to leave for church at 11:30. He was home at 1:30 and I asked him why he didn’t go to the gym, he said “you told me to come home after church”, no idea where that came from. I had planned to make corned beef and cabbage for St. Patrick’s Day, but realize this morning that today was Friday, so we switched to Seabass, we’ll have St. Patrick’s Day dinner tomorrow.  After dinner they watched TV while I cleaned up the kitchen and prepared for bedtime routine.

Elena – Wasn’t able to come this week due to a bad back. If she’s feeling better by Saturday, she’ll come in for a few hours to help me get ready for the big 25th rebirth anniversary.

COMMENTS:
Rose was in her pleasant and relaxed mood today, very sweet and loving.  Dr. Vesper had not been up when I arrived at 10a, he got up at 10:15 and was surprised to find me here and was very confused about the time. I got Rose up while he started this breakfast.  He went back to bed after breakfast and slept until almost 3P.  He drove up to get the mail and then spent the next couple hours before dinner going through the mail and reading. He tried to find the XU game after dinner, but without success.  After dinner they watched a ballet while I did the dishes and cleaned up the kitchen. Dr. Vesper wanted Rose to finish watching the program with him since she was very much awake, but she was starting to fade by the end of the program, I think she was happy to get into her bed.

Mary Del – Visit

COMMENTS:
Rose ate well today, although she was quiet most of the day, she did respond to Mary Del.   She started showing signs of discomfort after dinner.  Although, she didn’t have a BM, the discomfort seem to dissipate once she was tucked into bed.  Dr. Vesper left for church in the gym at 11:30, he was home again at 2:30. Mary arrived about 10 minutes later for a visit.  She had an oil change at Beechmont Subaru in the afternoon and decided to stop by for a visit. While they visited I finished the laundry, scheduled the pool opening and ordered a new kitchen sink faucet (still under warranty) from Moen. Lowell @ Cropper Plumbing will install when it arrives.  Dr. Vesper invited Mary to stay for dinner, but she wanted to beat the rush hour traffic.  Dinner, meds and nighttime routine all normal.

COMMENTS:
Rose had an average day, she was alert and focused, but not verbal.  She was cooperative and non-rigid, even during her shower and dressing.  Dr. Vesper got up the second time around noon. He picked up the mail and spent the rest of the day reading and watching TV, too cold to do anything but sit by the fire, high temp was  26°. Hillary had her antibiotic twice today and seem to be doing much better, she ate and drink normally and used her litter box several times.  Evening meds and bedtime prep all routine.

COMMENTS:
Rose did great today, I was even able to finish the nails on her other hand.  She had a short nap before lunch and a nice shower after lunch.  Dr. Vesper was up earlier for breakfast, but went back to bed for about 45 minutes, then got ready for church and left at 11:30.  No appointments today, came home after his workout. Hillary wasn’t able to come home  until almost 4P, they had a hard time getting a urine sample from her. Her kidney function was back to normal, but unfortunately she had a UTI and Dr. Miller put her on an oral antibiotic and will recheck her in two weeks.  She was very sluggish the rest of the evening, slept most of the time, didn’t eat any food or drink any water, but did pee one time.

NOTE:
Rhonda was scheduled to work 5–9p tonight, she came in and was making dinner, but had to leave due to an allergic reaction to fish. Fortunately, I was still here finishing up a few things. She asked for Benadryl, but we didn’t have any, She called the office to let them know she needed to leave and the office asked me to stay. She said she was allergic to fish, but was fine with gloves, not sure what happened.

NOTE TO CAREGIVERS:
Dial one called this morning to let us know the system is showing low battery. I was able to move our quarterly maintenance appointment up from April to March, they will be here Tuesday 3/14 and will replace batteries at that time. Please provide this information to Dr. Vesper when he ask.

VISITORS/WORKERS:
Elena – Cleaned

COMMENTS:
Rose got up with a purple discoloration on the right corner of her lip, I’m guessing she bit her lip during the night, however no swelling or laceration, just a purple lip. It didn’t appear to bother her during the day, but I did put some ointment on it, just as a precaution.  Rose was happy today, she listen to music after her exercise, she was more verbal today and responded well to questions.  Dr. Vesper  was up and had breakfast, then went back to bed for couple of hours, until I was forced to roll him out so Elena could clean the bedroom. He drove up to pick up the mail, read and watched TV the rest of the afternoon. The thermometer hit 70° today, I was surprised he didn’t want to walk around outside and enjoy the fresh air.  While Elena was cleaning, I opened all the windows and aired out the house, it was very refreshing.

NOTE:
I didn’t do the grocery shopping today, because I had to drop Hillary off early for her appointment with Dr. Miller. She ended up having to stay overnight because she hadn’t urinated and they wanted to monitor her urine output. This was the first night without Hillary since she had her surgery in November. We all really missed her, especially Dr. Vesper, she always curls up beside him every night.

COMMENTS:
Rose had a very good day, she was alert & focused, had a nice afternoon nap. Our normal conversation when I am working with Rose, such as dressing, is me asking for her help and sometimes I get a yes/no. Today she looked directly at me and said “would you do it for me”.  Of course, I said yes, I’m such a softy.  I think this is the most accurate and complete responses I have had from Rose in quite awhile. Dr. Vesper had a podiatrist appointment in between IHM and the gym.  The good news is he made it to the podiatrist on time and without issues. However, he didn’t make it to the gym, not sure why.  A relaxing evening of TV after an easy dinner of leftovers.
