COMMENTS:
Rose was up, bathed, dressed, had breakfast and all ready for opening day in Cincinnati!  We had no TV service, after I exhausted my technical know-how, I called DirecTV and after 30 minutes and 2 reboots, we were up and running. Rose seemed to enjoy the Finley Market Parade, it was colorful and loud with lots of marching bands.  The parade kept Rose occupied while I did chores. Dr. Vesper went back to bed after breakfast, but was up in time to leave for church & the gym.  He was a little later getting home than usual, I think he just worked out a little longer.  I returned a stack of O’Reilly books to the library and picked up a fresh supply this morning, which should keep him busy the next few days.  They relaxed and watched TV after dinner while I cleaned up the kitchen, did meds and prepared for bedtime routine.

for bedtime routine.

Sandy – Picked up stick (when she could wrestle them away from Kemper-he thought she was there to throw sticks for him)

COMMENTS:
Everyone had a nice relaxing Sunday – ate, slept, read & watched TV.  Rose was just starting lunch when Dr. Vesper return from church, he joined her for a protein bar and the last of his breakfast coffee.  After his snack, he turn TV on for a few minutes and decided there was nothing good on, turn TV off and started reading a new Bill O’Reilly book, which he finished before he went to bed.  He’s a little obsessed with O’Reilly books right now, but hey it keeps him busy & out of trouble!  I decided to give Rose mani-pedi since she was sleeping so soundly. Fingers went well, but even though she was asleep, she moved her feet & legs constantly,  only my tenacity gave me the edge, in the end I won, all 10 fingers and all 10 toes.  She was rewarded with a nice Shea butter foot and leg massage.  I had dinner in the oven while I was working on Rose, so dinner with the snap. After dinner Dr. Vesper went back to his book and Rose sat with me while I cleaned up the kitchen, got p.m. meds ready and prepared for bedtime routine.

Hayslip Family

COMMENTS:
Rose was very alert today, she wasn’t very verbal, seem to be in her observation mode.  She didn’t take a nap, but she was starting to get sleepy shortly after dinner. Dr. Vesper had been up, ate breakfast and went back to bed.   Sandy came inside around noon, while she and I were talking, Dr. Vesper came out in his PJs.  He was ready for breakfast, didn’t remember that he had been up earlier.  He got dressed and walked up to talk to Jim, he didn’t last long outside, it was too cold.  After going through the mail and reading the WSJ, he finished another Bill O’Reilly book, I think his 3rd or 4th this week.

NOTE 1:
5-6 of the Hayslip clan came to help Sandy clear the downed trees from the fence. Jim cut up several trees and the girls stacked the wood. Jim even managed to repair the fence enough to keep Kemper inside.

NOTE 2:
After 3-1/2 days of antibiotics, Miss Hillary started eating better. Good thing she is inside, We had a visit from the coyotes today, in the field below the house.

Everyone had their meds after dinner and was ready for bed by 9p.

VISITORS/WORKERS:
Sandy Hayslip & son Colton – Yard work
Elena – Didn’t clean today, still having back issues – called tonight to say will definitely be here next week

COMMENTS:
Rose had a good day, she ate well,  less rigidity  and no leaning today. She had a good nap after lunch & 2p meds, which allowed me some extra cleaning time, in Elena’s absence. Sandy was inside talking to Dr. Vesper when I arrived, he gave her a list of things to do, but had no interest in participating, even though it was almost 80° & a beautiful day. Dr. Vesper went back to bed after breakfast and slept until around 1p, spent the rest of the day reading and watching TV.  Colton came to play with Kemper today, he helped me take Kemper in for a weight check. Kemper not only met, but surpassed his goal.  Kemper was 99.8# in November, the vet wanted him @ 92# or less, today he was a buff 84#. Colton and Kemper played outside all afternoon, running and chasing balls.  Kemper was exhausted and sore tonight, could hardly get up off the floor to go to his bed.

NOTE:
There are a lot of trees down from the storm on 3/1, which have to be removed before the mowing season. Sandy was able to get in touch with her brother-in-law, Jim (Tammy’s husband) in hopes of getting some help from him. He’ll  come over Saturday if he doesn’t have to go out of town for work, he’ll let us know tomorrow.  Probably a dozen trees down, some By the roots, some sheared off halfway up the trunk. Looks like a tornado went through, but  probably only straight-line wind.

COMMENTS:
Rose slept more than usual today, she fell asleep right after breakfast and again after lunch and 2 PM meds.  She did seem to perk up in time for dinner.  At the beginning of bedtime prep, Rose started leaning forward and to her left, which was much more pronounced on the lift.  Dr. Vesper went back to bed after breakfast, but was up in time to leave for church in the gym. He didn’t get home today until almost 4p.  By the time I realized how late it was and checked “find my friends” he was on 52. He said he just worked out longer today.  Dr. Vesper read one of his Bill O’Reilly books while I did dishes and cleaned up kitchen.  PM Meds and bedtime routine all ran smoothly.  Our schedule was a little off tonight, which is normal when Jeannie is here.

NOTE:
Hillary & Kemper both were very lethargic today, slept most of the day, Hillary only had small amounts of food & water. Hillary had meds twice.

COMMENTS:
Rose was pretty sedate today, she ate very well, had a short afternoon nap and appeared to be very comfortable Rose had zero rigidity at bedtime, which made it very easy for both of us.  Dr. Vesper did go back to bed after breakfast, but was up by noon. He picked up the mail and after going through the mail and reading the WSJ, he started his library book.  Just recently I have gotten him hooked on Bill O’Reilly books, last week he read Killing the Rising Sun.  I dropped two new ones off to him Sunday evening and he finished Killing Kennedy in 2 days. I have 5 more on hold at the library,  he says they’re very interesting and easy to read.

NOTE:
Hillary had a vet appointment with Dr. Miller today for a followup on her UTI. I dropped her off at 10a and picked her up around 4p, when they called to say she had finally given them a urine sample. Her white blood count was still up with inflammation in her bladder. Dr. Miller gave her a steroid shot and put her back on antibiotics for 2 more weeks, recheck in 3 weeks. Dr. Miller was happy to hear Hillary has been inside since her surgery in November, he said his philosophy is, an indoor cat is a safe cat, with the increased population of coyotes in New Richmond, lots of cats and small dogs have been disappearing. His advice was to keep her inside unless she is insisting on going out. Kemper was also sick today, vomited 2Xs in the early afternoon, but nothing since then. I have caught Dr. Vesper letting Kemper lick his ice cream & cereal bowel. I talked to Dr. Miller about it when I picked Hillary up, he said most dogs and even cats are lactose intolerant, we don’t usually know that because they can’t tell us when they have a bellyache, it also produces loose stool. I passed this information on to Dr. Vesper in hopes of curtailing this habit, but he probably won’t remember.
